Really freaky Zelda story.

It was originally a thread post on a site, but someone re-put it in a blog post all organized (because the original was really UN-organized).Anyways, its about aguy bought a copy of Majora's Mask from some old guy and- well, just read it if you have the time. And after you read it, watch the videos. 'Cause he recorded gameplay of the story.

Not really sure if this is a good spot to post this, but Zelda is Nintendo, so oh well.

If you have the time to read it, and watch the videos, do so. 'Cause its really freaky. I got goosebumps reading it and watching the videos.

Yeah that was definitely done with an emulator. It was a good story though, and athough I don't believe there's any possible way it could be true, it was still a little scary.

Well somebody was really twisted to do that to people. It doesn't really make sense for someone to do that just to put that on a game forum. I guess he just wanted to become famous or something. If not, then doesn't this guy have something better to do. I mean I can't exactly say that since I'm posting on this forum but someone should look into this. On the flip side, perhaps this guy will write a book and then have a movie based on the book. Really I'm writing all of this to get this story out of my head.

The story was pretty creepy and I jumped when the Happy Salesman popped out in the first video, but it's obvious that it's fake. And this is coming from someone who believes in paranormal stuff. >____>

The person who actually got the time to write that AND make the videos deserves a big cookie. :3

It was emulator. It was rly easy to tell.

1) Audio crackles which is a side effect of emulation

2) Picture quality way to sharp

3)Some 2D elements were rendered abnormally (emulator issue)

4) whenever the stature spawned the face of the mesh lagged (another side effect of emulation)

5) 2 sec lag when title screen loads (another issue with emulation)

6) Alot of these tricks were done with a special tool im not allowed to mention, but ohwell :P

Wait a minute... When/How did the old man get the game cart? It belonged to Ben and they said that the old man didn't have any relatives.ಠ___ಠ

Maybe Ben's parents gave it to the old man, but that seems stupid 'cause WHO will give a videogame to a lonely OLD MAN without (grand)children? Unless the old man played videogames for some company, but I doubt it. >_>

Maybe it wasn't Ben in the cartridge. Maybe it was... something else... that haunted Ben. Ben went insane and tried to get rid of the game before finishing it. He drove on a raining night, the road was slippery, and crashed into a nearby lake. The old man saw it happen and called for help. When they successfully got the car out of the water, they found Ben dead. They were surprised that the cartridge was the only thing dry in the car. The police gave the game to the old man thinking he was also a relative(Ben's parents might have not wanted it). The old man kept the game and gave it to the narrator. He probably actually mistaken him for Ben and thought it was the right thing to give the game back to its owner. Now this... thing... inside the game revealed how Ben died, and now the narrator is at risk of going insane and dying in some cruel way.

Ugh, why am I thinking about this when I'm suppose to be sleeping. =__=

Note to self: Never think of possible explanations that relates to the freaky story you read before bed. :x

It's interesting that these Nintendo Ghost stories are popping up now.

The Pokemon Ghost Red version popped up not to long ago and now we got Ben's Majora's Mask.

The Next game would probably be something about a Hunted Super Metroid or something ruther.

Heck it may even be Earthbound.

Also if you read the story carefully then this is what you would get out of it.

Ben was around the same age as the person who has the game now, "a Sophmore in College" although we don't know the specific age of said person, we just know that the man is a "Sophmore in College".

Also Ben lived with his Parents and was apparently well known through out the neighborhood.

Ben Drowned on April 23rd, the Year is not specified but since Ben died on Apirl 23rd and Majora's Mask was released on Apirl 27, 2000 in Japan, Oct. 25, 2000 NA, November 17 2000. he couldn't have died on the Year 2000 and looking at files "Drowned" and "Ben" they both have all 24 Masks and the Boss Masks.

Ben had already beat the game. He either Died at the year 2001 or later.

Although the Game Cartridge is something to consider, seeing how it's not normal because all the Majora's Mask Carts I've seen are Gold. So Ben may have actually died before the Game was released however this doesn't prove anything, for all I know the first file for Ben could be Ben's real file meaning he never beat the game, he died before he could.

Ben is also a great Swimmer. Because in the Game you drown as a Zora, that's not supposed to happen AT ALL and we know that Ben Drowned so he must have died doing something he loved, swiming.

These must have represented his friends.

He was followed by the Link Statue, He was also Link, The Link Statue wasn't just his friend, It was his brother.

Ben's Brother was Drowning, Epona was told Ben that he was Drowning and Ben went to the water to save Ben but Ben Drowned trying to save his Brother!

That's the Story!

Epona could easily be Ben's Girlfriend or Best Friend, The Mask Salesman could also be a friend or the Old man that gave the guy the Game cartidge (since the Old Man appearently said "Good bye, Ben!") and the Link Statue is Ben's Brother! but what is the Skull Kid?

Ben, being an Expert Swimmer went to save his Brother, But The Power of Death was great and Ben Drowned trying to save his Brother, Ben and his Brother Died but Ben's Brother was Given a 2nd chance at life, Ben was probably cremated.

Ben also knew the Oldman, because the Oldman had said "Goodbye, Ben"....The Oldman was never Married, Nor had Children, but he knew Ben.....

The Oldman was Ben's Brother.

But if the old man is Ben's brother, then he can't be THAT old since the game came out 10 years ago. Unless Ben was saving his older brother. The Link statue following part still makes me think of a younger sibling following his older brother, and Ben's bro must have been 20 years or older than him to be old right now (the video was posted 5 days ago). Then how old are Ben's parents? o.O

EDIT: The story says that Ben died 8 years ago. So the date of death is April 23, 2002. It might be 2001 if the guy who made this waited a year to post it. Wait nevermind, you said it after this post. :lol:

For those of you saying that you never saw a gold cart of Majora's Mask.... As a kid, I had a grey version of it, and all my friends had the gold one. So it DID have the grey type..NintendoGamer3

Majora's Maskis an awesome game i have thegamecube version, i remember when i had the N64,i beated that game in five daysbecause i burrowed from a friend... i noticed that when ifirst played it, it was mysterious for some reason andmaybe the game wasmeant to have a darker atmosphere.after playing the game ihad always thought that the skull kid in the game is sad cause he was alone and heleft to the woods and turned into a skull kid...found a maskand that mask was his friend,taht maskturned him to someone else.thats whysometimes games likeMajora's Maskor any other, that make youthink of the backstory or story behind the game and how itcame to be, are good games.

maybe NINTENDO should make a game where you play a character thats haunted by a ghost and tries to solve the mystery...

Read the description. Apparently he gave his friend to finish uploading the videos, and he moved in to his parents house...

you know I think there's a moral to this story, and it's not to mess around with Glitches. Cause this probably wouldn't have happened if he didn't try the 4th day glitch.

Assuming this is a prank, the guy really went to great lengths. The latest video (released last night) is pretty neat. Theres hidden things within the video, as well as references to his earlier videos he had posted a year ago (as if the game knows about them). If you also go to his older videos from before he started this (they're a year old) the tags are odd. One has tags "Couldn't save him" another has "drowned me" in the tags.

It's very well done and genuinely scary. If it's a prank then the guy is very good at rom hacking and a very good story teller. The fact he went to the time and effort to constantly make these videos instead of just posting some text story somewhere shows dedication.

I do have some problems with the story (again, assuming this is all fake). 1. The old man giving him the cartridge. This is a seriously old horror movie cliche. Main character finds a mysterious and spooky old man who gives them an item. Item is cursed/evil/bad and the main character goes to return it/ask questions only to find the man is gone or never existed. 2. Why is this ruining his life? In the text stories we see no indication that anything is happening to him outside of the game. He seems to keep playing it out of curiosity and nothing seems to happen if he just doesn't play it. If he shut the game off and tossed it, the story gives no indication things would happen outside. The closest it came to that is having a weird dream about it, but that would be expected after seeing something like that.

Personally, I accept the possibility this could on an off chance be genuine. It probably isn;t, but I personally believe in spirits and the possibility of them posessing an item.

Some great storytelling but... In the third video there is footage from OoT. And the visuals are way too good to be an actual cartridge. Sorry to rain on your parade :Pbobcheeseball

Quite a few have argued that both of those are possible. That the footage is quite capturable in that quality from an N64. I also heard someone arguing that early builds of MM had parts of OOT in it.
