I have traded it in for Wii Sports Resort, because I thought thesingle was short and boring. So I think the story is so bad you want to quit. But the multiplayer is one of the best on Wii. So I say if you buy it, buy it for the multiplayer and not for the single player.

Worth a rent?Yeah, It's sure worth a rent.
It was mediocre. Although I'm giving it another chance this coming holidays. The multiplayer was ruined by lagged out players that can teleport everywhere and kill you, and the enviroment was so bland I didn't want to enjoy the single player.
One more chance though.
The single player is meh but the multiplayer rules. The guy above me exaggerated to hell and back. Get it if you want a cool multiplayer title.
I usually wait shorter and I never witness people drop too much. The other 3 things you said are opinions.I just don't get why people are liking the multiplayer. You wait 5 minutes to enter a game, the maps are boring, the weapons are boring, the enviroment's boring, people lagg out a lot. I just don't get what's so appealing.

It depends mainly on how high your standards are for FPS's. I've had the game since launch, and I've mainly concluded that the single-player is actually a bit fun. While it is pretty much corridor through corridor, it was fun for me, and I didn't have to push myself to play through it all. The thing is, the single-player doesn't have much replay value, because all the achievements include either killing a certain amount of enemies or finding secret messages that only make the cliche plot seem even more cliche. On the other hand, the multiplayer is really fun, and I play the multiplayer on a regular basis...
BUT, if you're standards have been raised by the likes of Halo and KillZone, then I wouldn't recommend this game. It's a pretty standard FPS.
The Conduit is really not bad at all. Just easily forgettable. If you had any kinda of funwith Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 or Call of Duty: World at War on Wii, you will find some enjoyment in this game as well.
On a personal note, just so you know where I stand on FPS's,I don't think Killzone 2 is much better than the Conduit. They both have pretty boring single player campaigns but there are some fun parts in each.
If you like online, then it's definitely worth it. Online is really fun, but the only thing is, the players in each votes on what weapon type, rules, and level you play. There isn't a party leader like Halo. Also, connecting online is kind of slow.
I haven't played the single player much, but I heard it's rediculously easy, and short. Personally, I think that's a good thing. To just go through a game really fast, and not have any frustrations, but other people think otherwise.
The controls are amazing, and definitely the best controls for an FPS on the Wii.
The graphics are actually really good (But who cares about them?). The screenshots of them online look really terrible though.
That's pretty much it.
The singe player story is actually insanely deep if you bother to research the stuff that comes up in the hidden messages. Here is a faq that gets it down good. Scroll to where he explains the hidden messages, and at the bottom of that section there's a "Wrap Up" that explains the whole plot.
But ultimately multiplayer will determine if you like the game or not, and that can depend on internet connection and luck. Some people say the multiplayer is really laggy/glitchy and it takes forever for them to get into a match. From MY online experience, the online has been smooth, enjoyable, and only a few times have I had to wait for 5 minutes. You could always give it a rent and then wait for CoD4 if it's good.
It depends. Personally, I like it because it's a solid Wii FPS with fun online and excellent controls. However, the single player is short and not that great, and with the exception of controls, the game can't really compete with shooters on other consoles.
I agree with the games not being frustrating... Challenge is good sometimes, but I like to flow through a game. To each his own.If you like online, then it's definitely worth it. Straight up it's one damn quality shooter. No matter what consoles you have. It rocks. Is it the best fps? No. But it's better than many. The controls are unmatched which makes a world of difference in a shooter and going online with your perfect control scheme makes you a monster. Buy it. Love it. Support the sequel!
The single player was ok. The customizable controls are amazing and add fun to the game. At least for me it does, i like trying new things out.
The multiplayer reminds me of GoldenEye or Perfect Dark. Is that a good thing or bad thing? Boils down to opinion really.
I don't see why there are so many complaints about the single player. The story is dull and generic, but there is a cool plot twist near the end, and I found it quite fun aside from a few annoying moments. And to those who haven't finished the game, the final few levels really are the most enjoyable. The multiplayer can be very fun if you have a good internet connection, and I've only experienced a glitch once.
I'd say rent it first and see what you think, you might be surprised how fun it is when everyone plays it down so much.:)
I find the multiplayer to be quite fun, but I honestly am not having a blast with the single player.
The only part I don't like is waiting to find a match (which can either be quick, or forever depending on if it loads everyone), but once you get past that, it's not bad at all (as long as it works lol). It's just finding players is the thing that sucks. Between matches, isn't bad at all.
Has anyone noticed that it takes forever to rank up too? I know I don't play every single day, but when I see people that are Gold Rank max they must play every day. I'm not even that bad either, I usually end up in 1st-3rd (usually).
It's definitely worth a try, so at least rent it. And if you like it, purchase a copy of the game so that the developers know that their work is appreciated, and they can confidently invest their time to create more games like it.
Nah not worth it. Has bad single player, multi-player, graphics and the controls are not as great as MP3.
[QUOTE="gameofthering"]I dont understand how you can say that.... everything is completely customizable... It requires some time to play around with everything but once you do you can have the controls exactly how you want them.the controls are not as great as MP3.

I disagree with everything you just said, except I agree that it's not the best FPS. I found it to be pretty low quality all around.... There just wasn't much polish whatsoever, which is probably a result of a lower budget and rushed production, but that doesn't mean it isn't still low quality. I actually got the most enjoyment out of the game by finding all the weird glitches and counting how many times I went into a room that I swear I'd already been in.Straight up it's one damn quality shooter. Nah, I couldn't. I got them to be workable and eventually got used to them so that I had awesome accuracy, but they were nowhere near how I wanted them to feel. There's no possible to way to emulate the smoothness of the MP3 controls, and even if there were, there's no way to make the controls more fun. The controls can't save the game from having boring, repetitive gameplay. At least MP3 had some fun motion controls....
The biggest problem in the single-player is the conduits. No one likes infinitely respawning enemies. Get rid of the conduits and the game might be a little bit better. But then you get rid of what gives the game its name, so....
This game is damn good. The controls are better than any other game you'll find on this console, hands down. Okay the single player is short, but I have the awesome online multiplayer to take up my time, big deal. Level design is bland and uninspired? Sorry, I'm too busy shooting down the horde of enemies running at me to really care.
Just give me a decent single player to warm me up for online play, then give me varied maps, weapons, and modes and I'm happy. This game has done that for me. How anyone can have room to complain nearly as much as many of you have is beyond me.
How can the controls not be good as MP3? Is that a joke? They're fully customizable so if you want you can make them exactly like MP3. The graphics were great, the art direction was bad. The guns, enemies, Mr. Ford's suit, and the ASE (especially the ASE) all rivaled graphics on the 360, but the backgrounds were so dull and never helped immerse you in the game, since they made the game's background look flat. Anyway, single player seemed fun at first but it got really boring going from corridor to corridor. Kind of bland, but still ok, just not good enough to purchase. Online is the best on the Wii except perhaps Mario Kart Wii or Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10, and it is very fun. If you can't get a better title on a different system or you love the Wii controls for FPSs then rent it first, then buy it.Nah not worth it. Has bad single player, multi-player, graphics and the controls are not as great as MP3.

The Conduit would be a lot better if it didn't have a built-in aimbot that about 75% of online players use. It doesn't even requrie any hacking or coding to use. All you do is enable "auto-center cursor" and then when you lock on to someone that you want to pwn, just point straight up in the air. Your gun will center on screen, and because locking on centers your screen onto your target, BLAM, aimbot. I can't believe that the devs didn't think of this during development.
How can the controls not be good as MP3? Is that a joke? They're fully customizable so if you want you can make them exactly like MP3.DeeDeeDee-erThat simply isn't true. There's no option for turn acceleration (meaning that your turn speed gets faster the longer you turn), and the IR pointer's motions aren't smoothed out like MP3's are. A set control scheme that works well is a far better option than fully customizable controls, in my opinion. People shouldn't have to tweak every little detail to get something that works. The option is fine, but HVS should've spent more time working on the actual controls rather than just putting all the work on the user end.

Yes. Right here at 1:15.

It has been a while since I have messed with the controls but I am almost positive there is a turn speed option. There is turn speed adjustment. I'm talking about turn acceleration. In The Conduit, as soon as you're outside of the bounding box, the screen starts turning at a set speed. An acceleration option would make it so that just outside of the bounding box would turn more slowly than far outside the bounding box. Sounds like a nit pick, but it makes a big difference in how smooth the controls feel. Regardless of what I tweaked, I couldn't get the controls to feel smooth.[QUOTE="DeeDeeDee-er"]How can the controls not be good as MP3? Is that a joke? That's why I like MP3's controls MUCH better than The Conduit's could ever be. The developer made the controls feel great from the start with no tweaking necessary. Like I said before, the option for tweaking is nice, but fully customizable controls doesn't necessarily mean the controls can be tweaked to perfection.

True the game allows you to customize the controls as much as you want.
However for the average player they don't want to spend that much time customizing a control scheme while defaults that work as well as other showcases for the console should have been there.
To me the controls worked, so I went with the default because, well, it worked fine. Though it still felt jittery. In MP3 - they worked well and felt smooth throughout.
The conduit has 'the best' control options in terms of customizing absolutely everything - however, when I actually attempted to do so it made things worse and ultimately I got frustrated and just went with the default because it worked well enough.
