Like the topic states. The thing I need some opinions on is the game to pick up with it. I'm bouncing between COD: Reflex and Monster Hunter Tri.

I've played COD before (on 360) and loved it, never tried Monster Hunter. I would consider my game time to be "semi-casual"

Love both genres as well.

Thanks so much for any help you guys!

First of all I really hope you enjoy your Wii as much as I have :) You're going to get a lot of love for Monster Hunter here - and rightly so! - so I'm going to stick up for Reflex first.

Obviously the graphics are not up to what the 360 version gave you, but the controls are more "natural" and it's an awful lot of fun. I haven't even touched the single player campaign (played one CoD, played them all IMO), but, of course, it's the online that gives it life. You'll find no shortage of people to play with, and I have just had an absolute blast. I had not played it for a few weeks because of MH3, but I am back playing it again this weekend.

For Monster Hunter: Do you like killing things many times larger than you with pointy things (or large blunt hammers)? How about trapping them? Does picking up mushrooms, mining for stone, and catching bugs, then putting them together to create potions, fishing lures and forge new weapons and armour appeal to you? If you answered yes to these, you're gonna love this game! It also has good online with up to four people, but it's offline is also of a high quality. It looks beautiful, it's challenging, and it's a collectors dream world.

Like I say, Monster Hunter is THE game on the Wii right now, and it's popular for a reason. I love both games, but if I could only keep one it would be Monster Hunter, but not by much. If you still find it hard to decide then check out some YouTube videos of both, but you won't go wrong with either choice.

Thanks for the deep reply brother!

It will be the only system I own. So graphics I don't care about. Mario, and Zelda are where it's at.

COD is always fun, and Monster Hunter I'm iffy on. I love RPGS and MMO's, and everything you said about it sounds great. Just wondering how it works for casual play?

Casual as in won't pour more than 15 hours into it per week? Or casual as in hard to understand?

Well I can't play a whole lot of Wii at a time as, due to illness, I get tired rather quickly even doing that, so I like games I can dip in and out of of, and just pick up and play. Monster Hunter is a game you can do as much or as little as you want in a sitting. Some later quests can take a fair amount of time (50 minutes time limit) as the monsters get tougher as you progress, naturally. You can go questing, or you just spend some time exploring or gathering materials.
