Asking if it has a good library depends on who you ask, much like it depends who you ask if said handheld is worht buying.
I would say it is worth buying if you want a handheld. Sure, it can't play music and videos and do a whole bunch of stuff in the attempts to try and make you buy it. It does have a wide variety of games and genres, however. Every game isn't for everybody, but every game also isn't a FPS or kill everything that moves game.
Just see if there are enough games you want to buy or you think look interesting before you decide.
I love how easily the multiplayer works. Its very easy to set up multiplayer games between DSs, and easy to connect to the net.
Also, with the right accessories you can actually play mp3s and watch videos on it. You can download homebrew applications from the internet. You can surf web pages if you have the internet browser card. If you have a Wii you can download demos.

My mistake, I don't think you can watch videos on it... but you can get accessories that turn it into an MP3 player.
the touch screen is awesome it has a wide varity of games
the thing it does lack on are FPS they have like one good one but for RPG, thinking games, party games etc.
it will never break on you but u do need screen protecters

Mine broke. I have heard of many of them breaking, and in the exact spot that mine did. Its the top right corner, where the power light is, above the right trigger. The touch screen also starts to lose accuracy, regardless of calibration.
