Recently DS is lacking.

So, other than the release of Mario Party DS, has anyone been excited about any of the newly released DS games? I can't seem to get excited over anything. There is an overwhelming amount of 'filler' garbage on DS, unfortunately.

I feel like I've been waiting for Ninja Gaiden, Project Exile and the Professor Layton series forever.

And even around Christmas?

It seems like Nintendo DS was short changed this holiday season.

I can't believe Nintendo didn't release their "big" games with the exception of Phantom Hourglass.

Actually I'm kind of glad that the DS is in a lull right now, its allowing me to catch up on games I missed in 2006 and also allowing me time to import some Japanese games.

There are gems within the crap being released.

Wordjong and Solitaire Overload are great games that have just been released recently.

Why do some people want pikmin so badly? I really did not think it was that great of a game. I mean, it was alright but definitely not my first choice for "games that need to be on the DS"...blitzkrieg13

Ya me and my gf were talking about how nothing good has dropped fro DS in a long time now other than mario party which we bought. Im looking forward to one pinball game coming out in feb but thats about it that I know of

The DS is not lacking at all , in fact , at the moment , I think its doing a lot better than its Sony handheld counterpart { no offense to PSP owners } , when it comes to good newly released games . i mean , c'mon , we got Contra 4 , LOZ Phantom Hourglass , Sonic Rush Adventure and FFXII Revenant Wings in the last 3 months , is'nt that enough to satisfy a DS owner for the time being atleast ?

Honestly? no. The best release was Contra 4, IMO. I thought the new FF and the new Zelda(with the exception of boss battles) were pretty mediocre actually.

I've been bored with FF since 9 and Bored with Zelda since Windwaker.

I must need professional help, I really tried to like them...really.

The AW series are some of my favorite games of all time. Period. And this one looks oh so marvelous!!!

But as for the DS, it's really slow right now and for the foreseeable future. I want Advance Wars and Dragon Quest IX, but when the hell is that coming out? Other than those, I don't see much. What am I missing?

Also, where's me new Castlevania?! Along with Advance Wars, Castlevania games are the best reason to own a GBA/DS.

im the same way.. i thought the recent FF's and PH were... par. i havent played contra 4 but i have both the original and super c for my NES so i see no point in buying a game i already have. ive just been buying GBA games instead simply because there are so many more titles i want on there than on DS. and thats SAD imo. i want something FRESH.

I asked for Phantom Hourglass, Geometry Wars, Lego Star Wars, and Megaman ZX Advent for Christmas. My brother got me Revenant Wings. And on top of all that, I know for a fact that there's about five games coming out before the end of March that I'm definitely getting. These include AWDR, Nanostray 2, FFCC Ring of Fates and Ninja Gaiden.

Lacking? I think not.

I think DS is doing okay. Zelda, Bleach, FF:RV, Warhammer, and many more titles have come out recently, honestly, faster than I can play the games. Zelda:HG was even a contender for the GOTY (eventhough it's unlikely to win). Mind you that DS is the oldest system in this generation, and any 'amazing' games will probably be held off to the next portable Nintendo console. (ex. Pikmin!)

first of all. why do you people want pikmin ds. sure its a great series. but wouldnt you rather have something new from nintendo. seriously the last thing they made was.. uh... pikmin. in 2001. new stuff plz nintendo.

second, i dont thikn the ds is lacking. its a much better line up than psp lately. sure it might not be as good as in previous years. but thats a good thing. so i can catch up on old games. but that doesnt mean theres a lcak of games. contra 4 bleach dqm joker and more. plus ff and zelda are pretty good as well.

Totally right . Unless you're the kind of DS owner who trys to rush through awesome games and finishgames really really fast , I don't think the DS is gonna be lacking for you . Take me for instance , I savored New Super Mario Bros 3 months , enjoying it to the max , even though I was very much capable of rushing through it in 2 days or so . Now I'm currently playing Phantom Hourglass and Pkmn Diamond , trying not to blast through PH ,because that really refrains you from really enjoying every moment of the game .

What does rushing through games have to do with the DS lacking ? Well longtime DS owners complain of the DS lacking even though we've got some really great games in the past 4 months , as in the above post . They either have'nt played those games yet , or have already finished with them , and in wanting for new games already .

Well PH is gonna keep me satisfied for a while , and so will the other few games in recent months , so I'm saying I can still waita couple of monthsfor great new games to come out . But I guess everyone's not gonna agree with me .
