Hey everyone! Relatively new Wii owner here. I've got two Nunchuk/Wiimote combos and the first of them finally has drained batteries. The last time I was at Best Buy, I saw a whole bunch of rechargable battery docks and such. I'm wondering, what do you guys use for batteries? Regular rechargable batteries that you can buy at a drug store, or one of these dock things? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I bought this Nyko Charger about three years ago, still on the origional set of batteries which still hold a good charge. I believe that it gets the best reviews ovrall too.

Be careful with the charging docks. Many require the Wii to be turned on to charge (they plug in to the Wii's USB port) and the batteries don't last long. There are a few good ones though. You can also go with rechargeable AA batteries. They will be more expensive, but they will also outlast your Wii and they go forever between charges. if you do that, I recommend Sanyo Eneloop AA pre-charged batteries and a charger like the LaCrosse BC700 (or the BC900 or the Maha powerex MH-C9000, but they are more expensive).

I bought a bunch of rechargeable batteries when I got the Wii three years ago. I had a drawer for charged batteries and a drawer for dead ones. My plan was that whenever I needed more batteries I'd reach into the charged drawer, and charge the dead batteries at my leisure. The problem was that the batteries wouldn't hold their charge for more than a couple days, so my charged drawer ended up being full of dead or nearly dead batteries. I got sick of this system, so I switched to regular batteries. I buy a 20-pack every-other month or so, for 8 or 9 bucks. The convenience of always having fully charged batteries is worth the extra cost to me.

You need pre-charged batteries if you want them to hold a charge. The Sanyo Eneloops hold their charge for a year or two before they need to be topped off.

Don't buy the docks. Get rechargeable AA's from professional battery companies like Energizer or Duracell.

I have a Sony NiMH charger that charges all brands of rechargeable NiMH batteries. I tend to just get the least expensive rechargeable NiMH batteries from Walmart and they seem to last for a pretty good amount of time. I have a bunch of these batteries though, so if one set start dying, I just replace them immediately with the charged batteries and stick the old ones directly into the charger. The regular batteries do seem to last longer, but it's really easy to just use the charger, and probably better for the environment since I'm not constantly disposing of dead batteries.

I've only used 12 rechargeable batteries in five years, and I still have four left. Just plan out your recharging time, either 15 minutes before you want to play or right after you're done playing when you notice the batteries are almost dead. You could save a lot of money. I've spent maybe $50 tops on batteries over five years.

That's what I'm using as well. The amount of playtime you can get from a single charge is pretty good. Just finished my first playthrough of New Super Mario Bros. Wii on a single charge; had to have been a good 15-20 hours. That's definitely much better when compared to my PS3 controller.

I use the Duracell Rechargable batteries. I've used them since January 2010 and I haven't had to replace them yet.

Has anyone used the EnergizerInduction Charge Station for the Wii? I would like to know how well it works?

Yep, my name is John Conner. I'm from the future, and I've beenusing Duracell Rechargables for my Wii, and Super Wii since Jan 2010. I can tell you they're very effective, so effective, duracell is what powers the machines. So whether its to power your Wii Remote to play some games, or powering robots to enslave the human race... it just has to work.
