I thought I was never going to say this, but I'm actually considering getting a PS3/360. Not that I don't like AC (I own WW and will probably get CF), but GTA DS looks kinda.. Well I can't even tell 'cause they didn't even show a bloody screenshot of it. Though the idea of bringing it to the DS sounds.. Dull to me. I bet it'll be a mini-game collection involving killing people by tapping them or something? Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm not a hardcore gamer. I've always had Nintendo consoles, never a PS or XBOX (yes, I'm that weird), but this is plain disappointing. I know Ninty's giving another conference at 5PM, and that there's still one day left at E3 (I seriously hope they announce something big), but there's not much I'm looking forward into this year :/ At least not for the moment. 2008 is not over, I know. And though not many, I'm getting a few titles for sure. But I would have liked something new (as regards software). Not WiiSports Resort, or WiiMusic, if you can even call that a game.

I got 360, PS3, and Wii. Wii is secondary solution. You MUST have a 360/PS3 as a primary console. If you never played or owned one, go ahead and buy one, now.

Oh yea, the 80GB PS3 will be $399, so not bad.

There's more to E3 than just the main conferences.

Nintendo are still bringing us Fatal Frame, Disaster and Wario Land this year. Miyamoto basically confirming Kid Icarus, hinting at Pikmin and of course Zelda is coming. This is not abandoning the hardcore, we just have to be patient.

Also, Animal Crossing may be a casual game but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyed by the hardcore.

What is shocking is people considering buying a PS3/360 because of this E3. It has been a long time the PS3 and specially the 360 have been delivering a lot and anyone should have considered them whether the Wii would do good or not.Wintry_Flutist

Why is that so shocking? People were waiting to see which way these console makers were headed for the future before they make their purchase. That's smart shopping. You could also view any disappointment with the conferences as the 'straw that broke the camel's back' for someone that was 'on the fence.'

I feel exactly the same way... ive always had a nintendo system, never an x box or ps, but now im probably going to get one of those

But Ninty is heading for a great future look at sony e3 06 and look at them now. So they didnt announce what was expected so what, now we know whats expected thanks to all the post conference info. Great games

You know, if there are games on other consoles you like, it's okay to buy those consoles. Nintendo won't disown you if you do. :P

I have two consoles... it's really not a big deal.

I think you guys are confusing core and hardcore.

Core means that they are the basis of what nintendo is trying to achieve with this system. This does not mean "non-casual games" or franchise games. In fact, games that appeal to a wide range of people do define what nintendo's goals were for the wii. And those two are a great example of this.

Maybe nintendo isn't for you then. Has that ever crossed the minds of all the people who are complaining here? Cause it's sounding liek a broken record. And, as someone mentioned, there are plenty of non-casual games coming out.

They did deliver what many people were asking for, the problem is people got hyped for things like announcement of a new Zelda, Kid Icarus and so on. I know because I expected one if not both of those, but hey it didnt work out, nothing to be upset about, thats just the way Nintendo is. They take thier time with thier announcements, but Miyamoto said that those games were being developed so why is that not good enough, must they really appease people with the pointless pre rendered trailer. Same here, I am going to be picking that up when it comes out, with a company that thinks Walking around a town with outer people is hardcore, were doomed for a hardcore game unless it comes out from a different company. I guess Nintendo is too stuck in the past..

I'm dissappointed in Nintendo but not in 3rd parties. Dead Rising, awesome. Madworld, lookin good. Conduit, saw the demo, must have. COD5, has potential. ToS, should be a great RPG. Deadly Creatures, Showing potential. and more. Thats just the tip of the iceburg.

So while I'm not thrilled with nintendo outside wiispeak AC should be a good game (not really my thing), and motion plus looks awesome even though I don't care about wii sports resort outside of the kendo game

How many times and ways can it be said, first off all of the major franchises for Nintendo have been released, but apparently people have forgotten that. Secondly Miyamoto said the games are in the works, that means the hardcore games from Nintendo ARE IN DEVELOPMENT. Why is that so hard for you people to comprehend, its not rocket science.
