renaming the wii

I recently got a wii, and it's great but seriously. the name is just... horrible.

So if you could rename the wii what would you call it.

Nintendo had to show that their console is completly different in concept,application,direction to the 'powerhouse' traditional consoles calling it 'super gamecube' or 'gamecube 2' would make it sound like just another console especially to newbies. The wii is short, disctinctive and memorable.

Revolution would sound a bit too cocky. It's worth remembering the Wii is a games console not a car so it's got to appeal to both sexes, in other words it can't sound too macho like Megadrive, interslice, omnislash, hypergobalmeganet inc.- Homer. It's also got to sound well in Japan so the name got to mean something-ish to the Japanese. It's also the sound you make when your having fun so the Wii for all these reasons is quite a good pick. I also like the name. 'Senshi' it means warrior in Japanese (Yes, TNA does pwn) and has a nice ring to it.

X-Box to X-box 360: "We turned gaming completely around, right back to where it was in the first place. Same games better Graphics! They will never see it coming!"

Playstation 2 to Playstation 3: "WOW... so original. 2+1=3 Congratulations! Must've taken you guys all day to think that up."

GameCube to Wii: "Completely different and original. Name implies how much fun it is and who can play it. Just rolls of the tongue doesn't it!"

Well I liked revolution too but that is just the code name like Dolphin was for GameCube... I prefer GameCube.

Anyway... Wii it's innovative and that's what Nintendo always do, the other ones only copy and steal but Nintendo are the pioneers in everything.
