If by "repetitive" he meant "I've played this game before", then yeah, it's repetitive. It's still a great game, but it's RE4. It's definitely the best version, but that's just it. It's a new version of the same game. Outside of the control scheme all I can really remember thinking about it in the half hour I played it at a friend's house was "Yep, this is RE4 alright... This is definitely that game I beat on gamecube well over a dozen times, then played several more times on PS2"
If you've never played RE4, it's a must buy. If you played it once or twice, than I can still recommend it at it's current price. If you played the living hell out of it like I did, then I can't recommend even renting it.
I had it for PS2 and I didn't even finish it because I got bored of it pretty quick, but I thought I would give it another chance on the Wii. I must say it is now one of my favorite games and I'm still not done it. The controls really make it feel alot more fun then the PS2 version, not to mention the graphics are noticeably better. I don't think I'm even going to get RE5 unless it gets on the Wii just because of the Superior controls.
First off it's spelled good, not, "gud".
Second you stated right off the bat that you disagreed with your brother on RE4 being bad. If thats the case, whats the point of asking if you already know?
Anyway, to be completly honest, regardless of what console you play it on I think it's over rated. No, not just over rated, but it happens to be the MOST over rated game I have ever played second only to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it's really, really over rated.
Anyway, to the Wii version, it's just like the PS2 version but with the Gamecube graphics and Wii controls. Or you could just say it's the PC version with Wii controls. As for the actual gameplay it's self. It's decent. It's just a nice action game thats really pretty is all. The story is not good like some people are fooled into beleiving because of the high production values, the voice acting is mearly decent. The only thing spectacular about the game is that it is so over rated.
So should you buy the Wii edition. If you have the other version, I say no. It's the same exact game, just a different control scheme. If you don't have it, get it unless youre like me and are not easily impressed by just any ordinary game.
And as for you topic creator... Buy it. I know you will regardless of what ever people say here.
Your bro is a huge dumbass sorry to say.Kikouken
ditto
Resident Evil 4 is the best RE game, the best shooter, and the best replay value game you can get on the wii.
RE 4 is a Must Buy, not a maybe...
...Or you could just say it's the PC version with Wii controls....
vashkey
Actually, the PC version is a straight port from the PS2 version. They didn't even bother to restore the Graphics to the GCN's level. (except for lighting effects)
[QUOTE="EndlessPunisher"]Whoever says RE4 is bad should be drug out on the street and shot to death.vashkey
You need help and you need it bad.
I was jk >.>... sigh... does anyone have a sense of humor? Looks like you need some.your bros right. the gamecube version owns it anyways just get it on gamecube and play it on your wii-SiiLeNCE-
What? Why would you buy the GC version? Wii version>>>GC version.
I just bought the game a week ago and it's really fun. The first thing is that the game isn't full priced. So you're getting one of the best wii games at a lower price $35.
Also, you have the option of using the wii remote for point and shoot or you can use the virtural controller for the PS2/GC style. The graphics are slightly better than PS2 and GC and by that I mean, having a bigger engine allowing more zombies (villagers) on screen at once. And other small things to be noted by previous RE4 players. No costume change during cinematics for example.
So if you like shooting stuff and getting spooked, you'll like RE4.
[QUOTE="-SiiLeNCE-"]your bros right. the gamecube version owns it anyways just get it on gamecube and play it on your wiiDark_Knight6

Damn straight! The Wii version is 10x better! (And I have both copys).

The Wii version has absolutely everything the GCN version had (plus more of course), and even has optional support for GCN controllers. So how on earth could that version be better? (unless price is your sole factor...)
THE BEST! Its not repetitive and if you think it is its probly cause your to scard to play anymore :P no jk its not that scary but its definatly worth buying great replay value. Plus it has lots of extras that were previously only in the ps2 version. A great buy
I like it. the new controls make it feel fresh again.mrb45For me, the new controls make it actually *playable*. The GC and PS2 controls were so bad I returned the game to GameFly before getting past the Pueble fight. I hate games where the difficulty lies solely on fighting the crappy controls. The Wii version's controls make an enormous difference. The game went from frustrating to fun. I've already made it to Chapter 3-3 and plan on finishing it. Never would have happened on the other versions.
