Resident Evil 5 on Wii?

I believe Capcom has stated that if Umbrella Chronicles sells good, they might port RE5 to Wii.

Capcom believed that RE4: Wii edition would only sell I think 350K (?) but has sold around 750K. Thus showing that Resident Evil can be popular on the Wii. So if Umbrella Chronicles sells good, there is a good chance of Resident Evil 5 coming to the Wii. Of course, there would be some huge graphical downgrades, but it could happen...Right?

I think that Capcom is more interested in spending all the time they can with the sweet-looking PS3 and 360 version, instead of spending time with a Wii port. That doesn't necessarily have to exclude the Wii port, but I think Capcom wants the graphics this time.Litchie

Goes to system with better graphics (RE4 on Gamecube) but then eventually ports over to weaker system with worse graphics to get more sales. (RE4 on Playstation 2) However I'm sure RE5 will sell really good and they probably won't need to do this, but it could happen.

Ppl say a lot of things arn't gonna happen a lot of the time and that stuff still happens so i can't go based off what you say. Thought i don't see it as a high possibility its still possible nonetheless. I honestly think it'd be so much more fun on wii neway (RE4 is amazing on wii) even though graphics would have to suffer.

This is the fate of the Wii. While sure you're gonna get a ton of games released for it by third parties, when a company wants to flex its muscles in terms of vision, artistic skill, and content, they're gonna go to the consoles with the visuals, graphical strength, and storage size to execute their ideas.

That said, lets hope that companies can break this trend. A rail shooter RE, and beat 'em up Soul Calibur sound more like easy money to me than polished, immersive games that last hours on hours. I'm looking forward to SE's FF - Crystal Chronicles to break this trend and make a full blown, awesome exclusive, following in Nintendo's path of gameplay over graphics...except they are guilty of the same thing with rail game Dragon Quest

Wii needs more original games that are fleshed out like Nintendo's games are. Most people will value RE5 looking amazing instead of playing it with a wiimote.

I think it will happen, but after a long time maybe. Because follow reasons

(1) RE5 is important to CAPCOM, it's their trump. And RE5 is their debut on console of new generation. I admit how much copies could be sold is important, but I think this time CAPCOM will not only seek for money ,but also for proving themselves, to further improve their repute.

(2) Considering the hardware capability of WII, if RE5 go to WII. The graphic will downgrade. Although there is good chance that it will be a excellent game. But graphic is more important for a next generation game to attract light user, they have become the main force for video game industry. Just like big budget movies, sometimes there is just superficial graphic but without storyline, but it makes money, that is what really matters.

whyare peoplesaying to stop thinking that RE5 is coming to the wii? there is still a chance of it coming out for the wii, and although it would take a signicant hit with graphics, it would still be fun.

I doubt RE5 will come to wii, but im pretty sure, a while back, capcom did make a statement about re-making the older ones for wii, but putting them in RE4 style...

As it's been said above they would have to completely rework the entirety of the game from the ground up. What we might see is RE2 Remake, which would be amazing and I could give a crap about 5 if they did that, or in about 3 or 4 years we may get very lucky and it would be profitable fro them to make RE5 for the Wii. But I wouldn't expect it unless they are working on a RE6 for PS3 and 360

But if you want my opinion just support the gaming industry. Buy a Wii for gameplay and  IMO buy a PS3 for the games and the inner graphic whore (someone will create a Halo killer someday, then why bother having an Xbox?). You can't go wrong with GoW3, R&C4, J&D4, and who could forget FF just to name a few.

That's not what they said. Capcom said they might consider remaking the previous re with RE4's engine if both Wii games sold well.

I don't think that the Wii could handle the graphics......

I am currently playing RE4 and i would hope it would come to wii. The controls are great. Wii may have horrible graphics compared to 360 and PS3 but wii isnt about graphics. Im hoping.

PS2 wasn't as weak as the Wii is compared to the PS3/360.

I hope they do a Wii version. Is not about the graphics, is about the installed user base. They had made several multiplatforms for PS2, despite their aging graphics, like GRAW. Also, I remember I signed on "petitiononline com" to have a Wii version of RE4, it amounted not even 1000 signatures and they made it. The current petition for RE5 is way more than that.
