Which franchises would you like RETRO to develop?

As would I. They've proven themselves with Metroid three times over, and while I'm intrigued by Donkey Kong, I'd like to see what they could do from the ground up.I want to see a new IP from them.

how about something good for onceelbert_b_23Yeah, those Metroid Prime games were just terrible. Its not like they weren't easily one of Nintendo's best series in the last ten years.
how about something good for onceelbert_b_23I know...Im tired of them making "great" and "excellent" games. Give me something "good" for once. Where are my A games Retro! /sarcasm I would like to see a new I.P. from them something more in the RPG or Action Adventure field. A genre where they can really show off their artistic talent, maybe something set in the Steampunk era?
They definitely could do a new IP. Retro has the talent.
I really would like to see Starfox done by them. They have a gift for reinventing franchises but at the same time staying true. DKC:R looks nothing short of great, and the Prime series...well, a critically acclaimed trilogy.
I read the F-Zero comments, I actually would rather have Sega do it. F-Zero GX on the Gamecube is amazing. Hard as hell though.
I think Retro should stick to action/adventure games regardless of which title they do next.
they HAVE to do star fox, because I dont trust anyone else to do it. Nintendo should give them alot of money, help them expand so they can output as many games as Rare did back in the day.
Oh god I would sell arts of my body for them to make StarFox. I was praying that's what their game was before it was announced as DK. But DK is still awesome. After what they did with Metroid StarFox seems a perfect fit.
yea, expect that when you start doing that, quality goes down and then you get mediocre games...look at rare now. i just hope they make a sequel or 2 before moving on.they HAVE to do star fox, because I dont trust anyone else to do it. well... Not in rares case... In the N64 days they made like.. 7AAAEs...
I would like to see more Donkey Kong if this one is good, but other then that I would like to see them make a new IP using Wiimotion Plus (or the next consoles amazing features) to make a fantasy medieval game that is a cross between zelda, Diablo and Retro's amazingness :P. I personally would like to see this done on the next console with amazing motion, graphics and whatever else. A lot of freeroaming, fun fighting (with tons of different weapons), different classes, multiplayer, and a great story. i keep picturing this game in my head hoping that either Nintendo or Sony will release the game for their motion peripheral. if people could see what is in my head they would have their mind blown :P.

that was 2 gens ago. Perfect dark, 007, killer instinct and DK are all great games, but where are they now.A sequel to Eternal Darkness. Or even Star Fox or F-Zero would be great.

Came here to post this, haha. Some ancient temples or churches in a Eternal Darkness scenario by Retros art team would be pretty neat, I imagine.
I would like fantasy Medieval Sci-Fi new IP from Retro Studios they are talented and I would like to see Medievel mixed with Sci-fi in a videogame.I would like to see more Donkey Kong if this one is good, but other then that I would like to see them make a new IP using Wiimotion Plus (or the next consoles amazing features) to make a fantasy medieval game that is a cross between zelda, Diablo and Retro's amazingness :P. Hmm, that could be really cool if they did it right. I cannot say I am the biggest fan of aliens and space stuff, but sci-fi doesnt mean halo or anything, so I agree that could be really cool.
Lol, I believe I would rather see a Luigi FPS :P Since he has been in the shadow of Mario for years now. But either way, kewl.
[QUOTE="elbert_b_23"]how about something good for onceenrique_marrodzYou actually know who we're talking about?I dont think he knows, Retro Studios did a perfect job with Metroid Prime.

that was 2 gens ago. Perfect dark, 007, killer instinct and DK are all great games, but where are they now.that doesnt make any sense though. They were some of the best games ever releaseda at the times, and while some of the games have gotten dated yes they are still fun, and you could probably say that most games now will be dated just like those are now, so what difference does it make
A Mario FPS.psychobrew
LOL!! I was about to say zelda, but then i remebered the crossbow training one... T_T

I think he means that Rare as a company has gone downhill. But that probably has more to do with their top talent (including the founders) leaving the company, than with them producing too many games at once.I might be crazy, but I think they should have a go at Pikmin, I mean Pikmin 2 already looked amazing but... just imagine how much more amazing it would be if Retro got their hands on it? But then again a new Pikmin game is being made... so I dont know. I think I will go with other people and say that they should try something new.

if the next game is a nintendo franchise, then we'll know that retro have been turned into the kind of studio that just makes versions of other companies hits. to me, remaking DKC is a low point; post metroid prime, it looks fairly dull and same old. they can do much better. they shouldn't waste their time with starfox.
i don't think imagination is retro's strong point though. from the reports it seems as if they had a choice of what to do next, but miyamoto suggested a new donkey kong game, and they accepted, but then somehow it ended up as a remake of rare's DKC game. maybe they're just good at throwing all their technical knowledge at other people's imaginations and bringing it back to life or re-inventing it. those donkey kong 3D models look pretty poor though, after the excellent work on samus.. so i don't really know what's going on.
