Well Retro Studios and Factor 5 are both secretly hiding what they are going to make next. Factor 5 is rumoured to make a new Kid Icarus, New Star Wars game, new indiana jones or a new star fox game. Retro isn't really rumoured on making a bunch of games except Star Fox and maybe a new franchise. Now Retro is one of the most respected developers last gen and this gen and Factor 5 made some incredible games. I really hope they announce their games soon. I hope one of them are making a new star fox. What are your thoughts?

Yeah Factor's been gone for awhile, so if they did have something for Nintendo like the rumors said, it was likely either strapped or its on hold. We will probably find out about Retro's project at E3 this year, at least I hope we do. I am excited to see what thier next project post one of the best trilogies ever made.

its known that Factor 5 was making a Rogue Squadron game but they where shut down, so its in limbo and we will probably never see it. Retro is making something in secret, but there is no info yet. I hope it is a new IP, not starfox or kid icirus

Nothing is known about the Retro Studios Project, so we can only guess. Rumours have previously said it was going to be the new Zelda, but that obviously isn't true. A more likely rumour is that they're working on an all-new FPS game for the Wii, which would be awesome as they made some of the best first person games ever made with the Metroid Prime trilogy. A new Star Fox would be awesome, though, as it would not only mean the revival of one of my favourite series, but probably an entirely new concept, which would be great as I do not want a Lylat Wars remake with Wii controls.

I am definitely excited for Retro's next project. After the Metroid Prime trilogy, I will probably buy anything they put out. Even if it was a my little pony game!

Kinda like Dark Void Zero "was" a closed project and wouldn't ever see the light of day? I would have to see what they were working on to know if I'd want it released or not.

I'm betting Star Fox. And I'm betting it'll be first person. I just remember sitting in the gunship in Metroid Prime 3 and messing with all the gizmos and thinking "Yeah, they want to make a space ship game".

Thanks to Lair on the PS3. Many developers went bankrupt or close down because HD console cost too much. Next it's going to be Silicon Knight.

I'm also excited to see what Retro's project is.... but I feel bad for them at the same time. They've done wonders for Metroid, and that has put a lot of weight on their shoulders imo. If they screw up whatever they're working on... people will judge them for it.

Taking in what we know about Retro thus far (and their history into account), they originally tried to go with different genres in the past. I've spoken with a person that worked for Retro (right before Prime was released) and have read numerous articles about they originally were working on;

  1. An action adventure game
  2. Vehicle game with weapons (Think Twisted Metal)
  3. A sports title (I believe it was a football game)

Taking that into consideration and what Miyamoto said about their vehicle game... I would assume they are probably going to dip into the adventure genre. I would really doubt they'd be working in the First Person perspective again. If I worked there, I'd like to stay away from it for a bit. I honestly don't know if Nintendo would give them another IP to work with, or just make them start fresh.

But who knows.... I'm probably way off.
