Rock Band DLC songs confirmed available for Wii!

now all the skeptics over "Rock Band Wii = teh fa1l!" need not folly! Harmonix is now releasing their DLC songs via hard copy discs. now, there's no worry over disc space AND we get more songs! the first set of songs being released has a few good songs in it, granted the best stuff is yet to be released. but if this pack is any indication, Wii will get them soon enough!

your thoughts?

Iwata said they're looking at expanding the Wii memory, so if Harmonix had waited a little longer they could do DLC like they wanted and Wii owners wouldn't have to disc swap to play additional songs. So I'm glad they found a solution, but if they had been patient they could have come up with a more elegant one.superluigi96

i think it was mostly for PS2 owners who dont have the ability to DL extra songs but then decided "why not the Wii too?" whatever the reason, at least we are guaranteed extra songs.

Oh yeah. I forgot about PS2. Whoops.

Anyway, I hope they put these songs on DLC in addition to the track pack. I wouldn't have to swap discs, and people can pick which songs they want without having to buy all of them.

I believe they said they were working on it some time ago. It sounds like Nintendo will be adding some sort of additional memory, so if and when that happens, we'll probably see some DLC for Guitar Hero III for the Wii.

It's nice to hear, but only a few of the songs on that list are actually good.

why not put them as downloads? thats the whole point of the downloading service. still want it thoughfartmixer26

but thats just like saying your forced to buy Guitar Hero with songs you dont like on them. its not that bad. maybe being re-introduced to songs in this way would bring about a newfound respect for it. i know that because of GH, my musical tastes completely shifted to classic rock. now i'm a zep fan! thank you, Guitar Hero!

It's been hinted at very strongly. There's been enough demand from consumers and developers for it that not to release one would be insane.

This is AWESOME news!

And March of the Pigs is on the first volume of DLC! I now have absolutely no complaints about Rock Band Wii, as the only thing I was truly sad about was missing out on some of the DLC songs.
