You can find various reports on different gaming sites about the problems Harmonix and Activision are having. Bottom-line, as of the time of this posting, you will not be able to use an Activision guitar for Rock Band. I am not sure if the Rock Band guitar is compatible with GH3, but I do know that there is one company out there that uses the shared guitar methods. Nyko's Frontman Guitar is supposed to work on both, though I have no way of testing that myself.
I reeeeeaaaaly want rock band, but I only have a wii. I have no interest in getting a 360 or PS3 other than rock band, so I don't want to buy another system just for one game. I guess I'm stuck with the Wii version.
No because there isn't any DLC and you can't make your Band. It's a tripped down and worthless version of a game that is so much better on other consoles.

they basially said the DLC could not happen on WIi and somehow justified that for everything else. No Wiimote in the controllers, no online, no DLC, none of the cool gameplay features that are on the other systems.
Basically they had to find a reason to port the PS2 version and they got it.
yeah all of you guys say you dont need DLC lol, right you say that now, but 5 months from now, playing the same songs over and over and over, gets repetive, getting new songs every week, is so awesome, and we are expecting more album releases, this keep the game fresh, even my friends come over every week just to play the new songs.
not saying rock band isnt all that great... but rock band for the wii.... no dlc... no customization... come on

If they brought out Rock Band on the wii they'd have to bring a new console out with built in speakers and stuff for the full experience, then those of us who already bought one would be stuck with the speaker-less console, which'd suck.
unless nintendo unveils a plan for an external hardrive, which makes DLC more likely in the future, i wont be buying it :( even though i would love to play the drums, the lack of new songs every now and then is the real dissapointment.
im hoping activision will bring out drum hero, then i can save money :)
Nope. After 'the announcement' that RB Wii would be nuetered I went and bought it for the X360 along with a console. I couldn't take the multiplat 3rd party offerings of the Wii anymore.
i cant wait for it its gonna be so sweet, i dont need downlaodable content, none of the guitar heros i have have it, and i still play them even after 5 months( someone said ill get bored then) they also didnt have any character creation either and they were awesome i mean guitar hero 1 and rock band both recieved the same score, so even without chracter creation, downloads, it can still be jsut as good

Ive been and still enjoying The songs in Guitar Hero sure Guitar hero is a much more challenging games (in terms of the guitar) Mastering each song on each instrument will have me playing for a while. Then with the same old songs you be able to experiment like trying to beat a song while playing the drums and guitar at the same time. I dont see how not having online play makes this game so different from Guitar Hero 3

No. I wish it was not so. I saw an article in GI and they showed a list of multi platform games that will never be on wii. Rock band was on there. So much for that. If you have a 360. Get it for 360. Theyre gonna screw it up for wii. Maybe you'll shove your wii 'mote in the drums. and sing into the nunchuck. And be able to play bass with the classic controller lol.
