I dont understand why everyone is surprised by rock band

Right off the bat you could tell EA doesnt care about this game on the Wii or else it would have been releesed with the other systems.

Why is it such a surprise that it doesnt have online play or downloadable songs. 1st off how would they manage that. If you play Through the fire and flames online on hard and both of the players will suffer lag. How is the Wii going to handle 2 guitars drums and vocals? If it was online people would just complain about how unplayable it is. Downloadable songs isnt even EA's fault. really cause where are you gunna put these songs you download? On your nice big 512MB flash nintendo calls storage. Nintendo screwed them selfs on this one. I'm just glad they final considered us wii owners and gave us rock band.

That's what I've been saying. Why is everyone surprised that it's a PS2 port. The Wii is much, much closer in power to the PS2 then it is to the 360/PS3. They are not going to build the game from the ground up.

Also, it was obvious that there would be no DLC since at this time we have no viable/practical means on storing such large files.

Not a surprise to me, I've been saying since the rumors of RB Wii being released that it was probably gonna be the Crappy PS2 port.

Oh come on. I'm always buying the consoles that are getting the short end of the ports. I'm so sick of this. Wii's potential is so untapped and I'd expect that the gaming industry would've jumped at the oppurtunity to test out the Wii's capabilities. Lately it seems that Nintendo consoles have been a marvel of gaming but where they excel in technology they lack with games.

But enough of that. You're right. There should be no reason they should downgrade the Wii. I'm more than likely not going to buy Rock Band on the Wii now. If I find out that the GH guitar don't work on this game then I'm 100% not buying it. What a waste of cash.

You can't honestly say that this game can't handle the online portion of the game. Guitar Hero III proved that when it was released that it can handle online play. I have absolutely no problems getting online with that game setting up games with friends or random people. The addition of two more slots would not hinder the performance of the game.

Also DLC could be handled very simlarly to how it works in Smash Bros. They send you things EVERY DAY that are downloaded

to your console, stored on the SD Card OR the Wii's internal memory. All you need is enough blocks available so that one

song could be loaded in game to the Wii's memory played, then removed much like you can do with stages in Brawl so they could be added to set lists. You could also store them on an SD card and play them directly from that much like you can with stages in Brawl. All this balogna

about not being able to handle DLC or online play is ridiculous. All this is is a very lazy effort by EA to cash in on the success

that Guitar Hero had on the Wii. They know now that people will pay for these games on a Nintendo platform, they're

rushing out a game they can say has "exclusive content" and cashing the checks.

i love how everyone but me and a few others completely forgot about the game (you, Rock Band? its a game too you know) and instead use it as a scapegoat to rant about nonsensical garbage like online play and DLC. is it really THAT neccesary? the answer is no. enjoy your games for what they are, not what you want them to be

I think the bottom line is the game will sell because it looks fun and it is for the Wii. Maybe if demand is strong, it's quite possible that EA might release standalone expansion packs that contain the downloadable songs from the 360/PS3 versions. But maybe that's wishful thinking.

Im not using it to rant about online and other garbage.....im using it to rant about why people are surprised that it would have online and other garbage. Theres a big difference. Unlike most people i plan on picking this game up 1st day and will mostly have a reserve on it as soon as gamestop lets me. I have a large group of friends in a small area so i dont need online gameplay as much as some who was like living in the back end of no wheres whos friends happen to live miles away. I dont no why everyone is sending this game off into the abyss just because it lacks online support. Its still a good game.

I agree, like I wished that brawl had more characters, but o well, at least it has 35 and really good choices. As for rock band online for wii it can happen EA probably does'nt feel much demand of it on the wii. I mean, RB came out last year, now they are saying something about it for wii, GH3 seems good though.

All in all, rock band would be a good game, no question, who knows it probably IS worth the $169 price tag. But it seemed lazy that no dlc is included and no onlie play, just local. EA was probably lazy on this project
