I'm a huge RPG fan and I find it quite unusual that ever since after SNES, Nintendo has had very poor support for RPG games.

Nintendo 64 had only a meager 2 RPGs and Gamecube only about a handful. I think it would have been awesome if N64 had more RPGs.

Nintendo Wii has Monado and Arc Rise Fantasia coming out for it, both seem like good games. Tales of S : Dawn of the New world and a few other games.

It's always been great though that Nintendos handheld systems have always had great RPG support.

But I've always found it unusual that developers seem to stay away from making RPGs for Nintendo systems since 64, even when the system seems perfectly suitable to home RPG games.

yeah this is exactly why i've moved on from the wii.... the software support is steadily decresing. I not bashing the wii or anything (ive been a nintendo fan since i was 5) i just think the wii is really beggining to wane. And honestly a few decent rpgs can't support an entire genre.

For the Nintendo consoles, yes, the RPG support has been pretty bad since the SNES. For handhelds however.. just get a DS. It's godly for RPGs.

I meant "since" the SNES as in "after" it.

Dragon Quest 10 will be exclusive to the wii. DQ8 was arguably one of the best JRPGs from last gen, so getting the the 10th one for wii is no small thing.

As far as I know they haven't even said that nine is coming out in the US yet, so I wouldn't get my hopes up for ten either.

DQ8 came to NA much later than its Japanese release and we got IV, V and DQM, so 9 and 10 will probably both end up here eventually.

No, the game looks good, but it doesn't really suit my individual tastes. I would be willing to give it a try and demo it for free, but I'm not going to purchase a copy just to see if I ''possibly'' like it.

I'm almost 100% sure that Dragon Quest IX for DS is confirmed by Square-Enix for a North American release.

Keyword there is "Port" and i think it's already 2-4 years old and it will be P2P and the graphics are worse than Tri. Oh yea, and the game probably won't even be coming here so continue being jealous of awesome Monster Hunter 3 :DDD

I'd rather have monster hunter 3, and the monster hunter for 360 is only planned in japan for now and honestly who cares for MMO, if you like MMOs go PC. MMOs aren't that great. I would rather have Monster Hunter 3 where you can play online if you want, but its still a normal RPG.
