I've always been a massive fan of FPS games but not on most of my consoles... OK I loved Goldeneye and Perfect Dark and I HAVE bought things in the past like Red Faction 2 and Killlzone but I always went with the PC for FPS games. I like console pads for driving, platform games and puzzles but simply preferred strategy games and FPS games on the PC because of the mouse. I like the fact that I can aim properly. The N64 and GC pads weren't bad but I HATED shooting things with the PS2. Aiming was a real nightmare on most consoles COMPARED to using a mouse...

But now the Wii is here and it seems my prayers have been answered! I can aim in a much more realistic way like a mouse... It's now "aim where you want to fire" rather than "up, up, left, right a bit... shoot". So now that I've found a console that can possibly match my PC FPS games, what game should I get?

Three have instantly caught my eye as I see them in all the shops. Red Steel, Call Of Duty 3 and Medal Of Honour: Vangard.

I'm pretty sure I am going to stay away from MOH because it's apparently nothing special, more of the same and not very clever. So far, the only thing that interests me with MOH is simply being able to use the Wii controllers but I'll get that with the other 2 games.

Red Steel and COD3 seem to be the ones I will be going for along with Zelda when my Wii comes. Now, which should I get? I've checked the reviews here and other places and they always seem pretty even. Some places say both are amazing and some say both are rubbish. COD3 is apparently very short but is RS much longer?

It seems that more people moan about RS and say its bad than people say COD3 is bad... but at the same time there aren't as many comments on COD3 anyway so I can't tell if those are fair results.

Can anyone give me any advice? I don't want to know if RS is good or bad and likewise with COD3. I want to know which I should get and why. What makes one better than the other? And if you REALLY feel I should give MOH a chance then I guess you can include that too.

Any advice would be really appreciated guys!

Red steel is different and it's much better than COD3 imo. COD3 looks worse than a gamecube game, has decent controls, and is a port. You wont find another RS ;) Until RS2, that is. It takes a while to get the controls down, though, and has probs of its own. I vote for red steel. Also, I've made it a habit of buying ONLY Wii-Exclusive titles, because most every port will be in the traditional genre and look like crap. Innovation > Ports. (The new prince of persia is no exception ;))

Well I've been watching videos of both RS and COD3. The RS footage I saw was obviously the Wii footage and the COD3 footage I saw was PS2 footage. The graphics in COD3 were VASTLY better than the graphics I saw in RS. Now, I'm seeing a PS2 game here with better graphics than Red Steel but you insure me that the RS graphics (which don't look good to me) are better than the Wii version of COD3. Does this mean that the PS2's COD3 looks better than the Wii version

Believe me the only problems i find in cod3 are, quite hard to see your enemies cause they're kinda dark, but after an 1h or so you get used to it, and no multiplayer, besides that it's an amazing first gen wii game and best fps out there for nintendo wii.

don't get COD3 unless you want a game that lasts for about 7 hours and has little to no replay value, RS is about 10 hours but i have replayed it a few times its fun to do, best way to make yourself replay, get the bad ending in the game, then you want to play through and get the good one =p

I'd go with CoD3.  Of course, there will be more options open to you in the future, but for a FPS on Wii now Call of Duty is the best.

COD3 - it has the best controls of the bunch and while a little short, it's not THAT short, and the pacing is great. Definitely the one to get, and I've beaten both RS and COD3.

Red steel's good, but controls suck royally
call of duty controls are equally bad, plus no multiplayer

Go with MOH, its short, but at least it controls well and looks good too
