nintendo says zelda next week, they mean 4 years from now
it's a place holder, they do it to keep interest, and then prospone it and so on, builds lots of hype which piles up their sales

lol I agree with Monty the usually make 1 Zelda a console or maybe if we get lucky like the N64 2.
There usually is 1 to 2 Zelda's for handhelds also so..
Keep in mind that TP is a gamecube game ported to Wii, I think there will be a new Zelda on Wii quickly (well maybe not so fast lol). And also except for the SNES there have always been 2 zelda games per console.
NES: The legend of Zelda, The adventure of Link
SNES: A Link to the past
64: ocarina, majora's mask
cube: windwaker, 4 swords, TP
Wii: TP,...?

Only the SNES had 1 Zelda game. I don't know who's giving you your information, but I think you're missing out on about half of the Zelda games so far...
I think a new Zelda for the Wii in 2009 is possible. Couldn't care less for that rumour, though.
Since TP was a GC game, Nintendo have to give us a real Wii-Zelda experience. This is the most innovative console they've ever made, and I'm sure they don't want one of their biggest series to miss out on the potential of it.
Well, Myamoto did say that TP was the last Zelda of it's kind, I'm sure a new Zelda game that will take full advantage of the Wii is in the making.

N64 got 2, Gamecube got 2, The Wii deserves another zelda and a half.
I'm pretty sure i heard there was a new Zelda in development for the Wii and it's definetly going to come out before the Wiis last days... I'd gurantee you will get a new Zelda game for the Wii, When? i don't know but it we will get it before the Wii dies...haha if that makes any sense.

GC as 3, 5 if you count the collectors editions.
there will no doubt be a Zelda game built from the ground up for the ii. Will it be in 2009? who knows...ZumaJones07
This.
More than likely the next Zelda game will come out in 2009. 2010 would be the latest for it to come out. TP came out in 2006, and before TP was released the next Zelda game was already begining to be developed on. So 3-4 years in between a console Zelda, but no more.
