EB Games is actually taking pre-orders for Donkey Kong 3D. They even have place holder box art with Kong on it in their stores and an Italian game retailer is also listing the game on their website for pre-order. It looks like this was going to be one of the big E3 reveals but no more. Looking forward to it. I hope its a good blend between 3D and 2D DK games click here for more details

Mod edit: It's not confirmed, still a rumour.

If this is true I hope that Retro are the ones developing it, they did a fantastic job with Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I would settle for a port of DKC:R, to be honest, only with the pound/roll mechanic mapped to an actual button rather than the wagglefest abomination it was on the Wii.

After the whole play.com fiasco, I refuse to believe this.

They also have Super Smash Bros. 3D available for Preorder and it says Available 2012. We know that isn't happening.

So I'm just saying wait until E3 to actually get word on if it is real.

Hopefully it'll be a 3D Donkey Kong game developed by Retro.

I hope it's a regular Donkey Kong game, like the arcade, Gameboy, and Mario vs Donkey Kong ones. DKC is fun, but the Mario vs Donkey Kong style is more my kind of thing.

Make it like the original DKC's or DKCR. This could be epic.

Apparently its going to be a free roaming sandbox game in which Donkey Kong has to wreck havoc and destroy an entire city whilst the army try to take him down. There's also a property ladder mini-game, with the entire game is in black and white and the soundtrack was developed by Snoop Dog, who believed he was writing the soundtrack to The Dark Knight Rises.

this is the only reason i chose not to play or complete DKCR, Nintendo really screwed up with that decision. it doesn't make the game any more immersive and decreases the accuracy. such a shame. :(

Agreed. By the time in the Wii's lifespan when Returns hit, you'd think they'd have learned their lesson needless waggle. But no, the ground pound, the blow, and the roll all required you to shake the controller. Textbook definition of waggle, too, it did nothing but mirror what a button press would have done better.

I can't seem to find it at ebgames.com. But if they were doing it, it's probably their way of boosting sales. But it would be nice if Nintendo does make a DK3D game for the 3DS.

Yes, the controls killed the game for me, and I didn't buy it. Mind you, this comes from a person that loves motion controls, but I simply coudnt play the game like that.

We could tell it was fake in the moment you see "Smash Bros 3DS coming in 2012".
