Well from Bio_Sparks thread it says July 31st... I cant wait!hack-shinobi
Im pretty sure the thread is wrong, IGN and GS both list it as August 14, for both of them to be off by 15 days seems unlikely.
I suggest you find the website for the game and look on their videos. Last time they had a month mentioned.
What is everyone going to do when they get this game! Me Ill try to gather alot of information about the town and the surrounding areas and go on a adventure!
Well, i've had the import version for quite a while now. So far, its got everything you've come to expect in a traditional harvest moon game.
You still got the
- traditional "make money by putting stuff in the box"
- crops
- animals (albeit taming monsters instead of buying them)
- marriage
- shops (bath house and all)
the control is also very similiar, a lot like the GBA one. You'll even find that the town is some what similiar, especially the beach.
The combat isn't all that great to be honest. Its not bad but its the same as watering crops. You just press a button to attack just like you would to water crops. however, i don't think i've advanced far enough in the game to get any of the better weapons so i can't really judge it yet.
out of ten i'd say about 7.5-8.5 but i can't read much japanese (kanji only) and i haven't played much harvest moon so i can't say for sure. but its still looking like a fun game.
i don't think there is a specific release date. all places i've looked are all august 2007 with no actual date.

Wow, rub it in " but i can't read much japanese (kanji only)". I've got Hiragana down and am learning Katakana, but Kanji is on a whole nother level.
On topic though- I can't see it being better than the N64 version but it certainly does seem intriguing. I've played a few hours through an import copy and can say that I am impressed by the voice acting and all of what I have done so far. There are alot of people to interact with and cool anime character designs. I just hope that I can enjoy the localised version of the game as much as the Japanese version (or what I have played so far).
If you go to Fogu.com and hit the "cow icon" it will take you to all things HM including Rune Factory.
The storyline sounds great. I love HM for the DS and am looking forward to this one. Depending on which comes out first it's either going to be Rune Factory (EXPECTED to come out August 14 - according to GameStop) or MySims, coming out in September.

Whoops, he's right. It got a 2 week delay a month ago and I never updated it.
As for the game itself, I'm excited. I enjoy the Harvest Moon games, but they get old fast. An altered formula could fix that.
Bio_Spark, you're the most amazing GS user everSo, your telling me that if I buy Harvest Moon DS I can live all my rubbing farm animal fantasies out? Im in.
Seriously, never played any Harvest Moon since the SNES, but for some reason I noticed this one and will give it a try. I dont expect the combat to be deep, because it seems like its sort of added in just to make the game a bit wider instead of deeper, and to be fair, I dont see how you could make Harvest Moon much deeper without it getting more boring. I would prefer lots of things to do, rather than just 500 different crops to plant.

yes! your fantasies can become a reality! with the soap and all, like with carwash girls!! but if you fancy animals:lol:
Could you tell me little bout the series/ gmae? i haven't played any of em yet.... it looks kinda interesting.... is their a story or do you just make Ca$h and tame beasts? Any info would be great....
as for getting it.... im gonna c wat u guys sayy bout it firstapu0404
The harvest moon series is pretty much a simulation game, where you live in a farm, try to make money (by planting or by raising farm animals), get the girl of your dreams (you can choose from around 3-5 girls), have a child and live hapily ever after (in more ways than one!). Overall its a real good gaming experience. I would suggest getting a harvest moon game and trying it out for yourself! Rune Factory might be a nice game to start your experience with harvest moon!
These two rune factory 2 scans seem to show some of the girls in the game. They are already making Rune Factory 2 and the company is considering putting the series on the wii.
