Who cares what it looks like? Sakura Samurai is to melee action games as the Arkham series is to beat 'em ups. That is to say the next evolution in a genre that's long needed an upgrade. Of course it suffers from the limitations imposed by being the product of an indie developer, but all the same it's an excellent title, and I can't wait for either a sequel or for some other game studio to polish up the idea and present a new game on the same premise(Way of the Samurai 5, anyone?).

I think it looks pretty good for an eShop title, and its fun. That's probably what matters.
Or, we could just focus on the usage of modern slang.
I was thinking about getting that one, but the graphics look kind of cruddy

\\ I feel like you're missing one of the main points of Nintendo... Whaddaya mean? I can't get over how people say that gameplay is the only main point of Nintendo. It's Sega anyway.
