I have hori protectors, my original screen had some little scratches, and when i put it the protectors, it looks like a new screen (you cant see the old scratches, its really awesome
It's pretty much agreed upon by most that Hori are indeed the best. That said I put Pelican brand on my DSlite the day it launched and up to this point there's not a scratch on them. I play on average about 10 hours a week now but I used to play more. I might add that a lot of people say Pelican brand isn't very good.

is it difficult to apply? I've heard people say that.
I would suggest applying them somewhere where there isn't a lot of dust, but it's not too hard to put them on. You can reapply them if you get it a little off. I couldn't reccomend them any higher, I'm convinced they are the best.
