i was super excited for this game originally, but after playing hours of it, i kinda find it boring.

I have gotten to end of world 5. So i'm not entirely done.

But so many of the objectives are so boring to me. Get a cat, give a chef a knife, but don't kill anything!

I understand that "my imagination" can improve this game by thinking of great new ways to solve situations, but i really don't find the levels or situations to be very good for the most part with some exceptions.

The controls desparetly need to be improved, and the game needs to be as hard as some of the better levels in the first game.

If the controls are really improved then I guess it could be enjoyable.

Ahh. The only confirmation I ever heard was that they wanted to expand the brand, not that they had officially announced anything yet. (until now of course)

I hope they do, the controls ruined the first one for me. If they can just improve on that one thing I'd be a really happy camper.

improved controls? can't be that hard, considering they were beyond playable on the first one. and i used to try adding adjectives to the things i was creating, but the game always seemed to ignore it.

More information via the man himself:

-Developed by 5TH Cell.
-DS Only.
-Out this Fall.
-Yes, D-pad controls for Maxwell are in along with significantly improved stylus controls and camera is now fixed.
-Big updates to physics (it's still DS, but it's vastly improved).
-Levels are revamped completely improved (no more solving every level with rope/unicorn/death/etc), levels are deeper in content.
-The 10,000 words refers to adjectives, we didn't add 10,000 new objects, we put in 10,000 new adjectives (we put in some new words too).
-You can string adjectives together.

There's a lot more info in the NP article, buy it!

Sounds so awesome, I'm excited.

I have not played the first one, but my son has expressed interest in it and I was thinking about picking it up for him. What is wrong with the controls? He is only seven and still developing his gaming skills. Would not want to purchase a busted game.

You control max (protagonist) with the stylus as well as creating/placing objects. It's not game breaking, but very frustrating.

honestly, i think the game's only a great idea, not a great game. the controls make it nearly impossible to give a creative solution to things, and most of the time you'll give up making your solution work and just stick a rope to a helicopter and drag whatever you have to carry from point A to point B. and you'll be needing wings/jetpacks a lot too.

Hellz yes, the terrible controls killed the first game. Scribblenauts 1 was a huge disappointment and not a very good game overall, but it sounds like they are fixing the big problems

Agreed I fell for the hype on this board. It was an okay game but nothing amazing.

You can say I bought into the hype cause I did buy the game. But I knew it wasn't going to be anything spectacular, just something to mess around with and show people and be like "Check out what I can do." Same reason I will be getting that 3D DSi game when it comes to the states. Not so much to play it but just to gawk at it.

Does this mean I can walk on a bridge I've placed without it falling into an abyss?! I like this game in short bursts. I actually played it this weekend until the physics got frustrating, as usual. Hopefully they really fixed all of those issues because it's a great game otherwise.

i make it sound like it was terrible because i think it was terrible. i mean, i respect their effort to bring a completely new idea, but make sure it works before releasing.

This gamehad absolutly horrible controls, You ended up summoning the same items. You couldn't change the size color etc with the objects. Touch screen items ended up being hard to control. Level editor was pointless. It got boring after a couple hours.

If they change all of that, this can be a good game. I got bored after the 2nd level on th 1st one.

I think this is why we're getting the sequel so quickly. They should have waited and worked out all of these major gameplay issues before they released it in the first place, but did so hoping the innovation (and hype), would carry it through. That being said, I still enjoy it (more than I should probably) but with S2 they'd better get it right this time!

Okay, now, it could be playable.
