To download a save file from the internet to transfer to the Wii, do I have to use a Wii brand Sd card? I am trying to download a save of Spider-Man 3 and I am using a Panasonic 256 mb card and the Wii says that the card is empty. Also, can someone give me instructions on how to download a save file from GameFaqs, just in case I accidentally did something wrong and that's the reason it won't work. Thanx

No. SD cards are SD cards, period. Well, okay... unless they're SDHC cards (most 4GB cards, and all above that), in which case they won't work in the Wii.

Umm, when I transfer data off of my Wii, it always puts it into a specific folder structure thingy. You probably need to have this on your card for the Wii to understand where the save is.

You need to create the specific folder with a name that the Wii knows to read

It can't just read a save file on a card, it needs to be in the save folder and then it needs to be in a specific game folder

If you are getting the file from a good website, there is normally a txt file with it that tells you what to call the folder just in case you haven't saved to the SD card or the txt file tells you which folder to put it in. Either way, that would give you the name of the folder you need.

Thanks, I got it. My friend told me to go on wiisave.com and you have to create a folder structure like :\private\wii\title\(game's code)\data.bin. You can also store it a different way as a zipped folder, but I don't know how.

***You have to replace (game's code) with its personal game code like, for Spider-Man 3, it is RS3E,but for Super Mario Galaxy, it's RMGE.

even if you do that some cards are not working with the wii.example i have a nokia 256mb minisd card(with the sd adaptor)and while i can see pictures or listen to songs (excite truck),when i copy a save in the card(even from the wii itself,or from my pc in the correct folder) i cant bring it back to the wii ,it says i dont have any save in it.probably its the card,i formated it and it still did that.

funny how we havent heard anything for sd cards in months and now it is coming on all forums hehe
