With the announcement of Dead Space Extraction and the buzz about a possible exclusive RE, I though this would be a good thread to post. Some series just seem to fit with the Wii, but they don't have any exclusive games for it. For example:

Portal. Portal seems to be perfectly suited to the Wii it requires fast aiming, which is good for the Wiimote. It is a puzzle game, so it would appeal to new gamers. And it has simple locationsthat don't require very powerful graphics. Therefore, I submit that they should make a portal just for Wii! It would be an all new game, not a port. You would play as a different test subject and the game would take place before the first Portal with all different test chambers. You would be one of the people who wrote on the walls. New features would include: more deadlyenemies, more secrets, more Glados, and cake! You would also be using a more advanced version of the portal gun that can do more than just create portals and pick stuff up(Like screw with gravity). The game would be titled, Portal: The Beginning.

You get the idea. So what games do you think should have Wii installments?

No, Portal requires a lot more rendering power than you think. Especaially where then are portals across from eachother creating an endless loop. That alone would cause the Wii to shut down.

Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings. The series itslef doesn't need to come but I WANT SE to bring that type of RTS experience to the wii in some way shape or form. Obviously deeper and more console based of course but with the same length and strucure. I've poured 70+ hours into that game and reegret none of them.

http://ruledauniverse.wordpress.com/2008/10/13/games-that-should-be-released-on-wiids/ it's a post i wrote a while ago, and i admit, it is kinda noobish list. but i would definitely be dancing around my town naked if they announce burnout or mgs on wii and i agree on jet set radio. valkyria chronicles spin-off would be nice, but personally that will do better on ds.

Narbacular Drop. I'd personally love to see Klonoa make his home on the Wii. I'd like to see Tomba do the same, but I just want a new Tomba period.

Um, an endless loop would cause any computer to shut down, which is why you would include a parameter specifying on which level to stop the recursion - a parameter which could be customized to the computer's processing power. :P

Anyways, I personally think that Sly Cooper would have a great home on the Wii - now if only it wasn't published by Sony...

Yeah I agree with Portal, I really love that game and it would be great on the Wii. I think some of the RTS games like Command and Conquer games would work great on wii with the pointer... but yeah whatever I said will never happen...

I wouldn'rt mind seeing a 3D Megaman whether Legends or a new series, I think a 3D megaman would work very well on the Wii

Well they don't endlessly loop it, they have to stop at some point even on the other consoles. All they have to do is shorten that point for it to be on Wii.

I went through the commentary mode on Still Alive and I believe they said they only repeated the loop 7 or 8 times. The endlessness is only an illusion.

That said, it was interesting going through the commentary and hearing all the challenges they faced. Makes me wonder if they could even Portal on Wii just from hearing all that technical stuff (would be awesome if they tried though, as the Wii could use more people trying out new things to push the console).

So do I and a hell of a lot of games made for Wii but its not happening...unfortunately RARE left Nintendo (the worst thing thats ever happened) so now Jet Force Gemini would be on X360...honestly Microsoft has robbed Nintendo of some its greatest games...and YES the Wii remote is begging to be used in some good games but sadly all we are getting is damn Shovelware. I don't care what anyone says TUROK should have been on Wii...Ruined on X360...along with a hundred other games like Perfect Dark and the rest.

so saying giving us portal , wouldnt work that be the same as saying ps1 getting hexen or the world is not enough wouldnt work when they did work

but i think

stunt race

fzero

timesplitters

duke nukem

hexen

doom

quake

rush

vigilante 8

resident evil again

dead rising

james bond 007 series

turok

to the poster who said turok should have been on wii ,

turok was done by another developer not rare turok evo was multiplat

but i think turok should be done as a exclusive not the same turok , that was a discrace

They do 5 for 6 instances of recursion. It's not the recursiont that Wii would have trouble with, it's the environments being rendered. I haven't played portal, so I can't comment, but if the geometry is as simple in the game as it is in the screenshots, I don't see any reason why it couldn't be done. It's not like we're rendering Metroid Prime environments three times over, here.

Yeah, that's what made me think it fits the Wii well. The environments are simple test chambers with few special effects.

shadow of the colossus would be cool but won't happen unless sony gives it up.

The two controllers could be used like the characters hands and stabbing into the colossus with the remotes would be awesome.
