8.0
Another great 3DS game. Metacritic's currently at an 86 as right now.

The constant refusal of 9 for the 3DS is getting annoying. Not even Fire Emblem Awakening got that but Copy and Paste of Duty gets them every time. As for the review itself, the first page was just general could be said for any game in the series but it got more specific in the second page. I hope by mediocre graphics he means the fixed sprites and not because it is not in HD or something. At least it was not steamrolled like Strange Journey.
Picking it up after work tomorrow :).
Between all the 3DS games I've bought lately and Steam sale my unfinished games count keeps skyrocketing!

The "COD gets a 9 argument" is trite and silly. Gamespot's scores for COD have been dropping with each installment since Black Ops, and there was of course that 2.5 for that POS Black Ops: Declassified.
Who care if some random guy on the internet didn't give it a 9? It's developed by Atlus, and its Shin Megami Tensei, that's all you need to know to judge its quality and put it on your list of "must purchase."
GameSpot doesn't give games a 9 for the sake of giving a 9. Of course there are some games on the 3DS that deserve a 9, but Carolyn or Tom are the ones who review them everytime  *coughprojectxzonecough*The constant refusal of 9 for the 3DS is getting annoying.

I may end up getting this if and when it arrives in Europe. At least the delay will give me time to (hopefully) beat the rather excellent Devil Survivor Overclocked. I'm on the last day (well, day 7) and I'm quietly dreading the no doubt horribly tough and immensely frustrating final battle :P
So guys...collector edt. or regular? This game looks so awesome!afterworldI think all first prints are collectors editions. Don't know how many of those there are though.
Just be aware that it is an Atlus game meaning, that they only produce a small amount and when that supply is gone, it is gone for good. Your only option may be the download version if you get it later.I have never really gotten into this franchise, but the game sounds very interesting. I may consider getting it after a finish Emblem, RE: Revelations, and 999.

Basically get it while you can.

That's not exactly true... Persona 3, (FES and Portable) Persona 4, Nocturne, and Digital Devil Saga at least are very cheap on Amazon. The only really expensive ones I noticed are the original P3 and Trauma Centre Under the Knife. Though I didn't search up every Atlus game.
Atlus does not pull punches on the difficulty. They stay true to the JRPG genre unlike Final Fantasy... I thought Strange Journey was even harder than this. In that game, if the enemy gets the jump on you there is a good chance you will die.

This game actually reminds me a lot of strange journey. But the random encounters in strange journey were pretty annoying. This game really isn't that difficult. If you have a well balanced party and exploit your opponent's weaknesses you really shouldn't die that often. I like to keep a healer or two in my demon stock so I don't use up all of my main party's MP on healing.
I suggest you get a copy (either physical or E-shop) of SMT IV by August to avail of the $30 E-shop credit, if you've already registered your copy of Fire Emblem.I have never really gotten into this franchise, but the game sounds very interesting. I may consider getting it after a finish Emblem, RE: Revelations, and 999.
