Geist could definitely use a reissue. The game was horribly underrated because of the constant delays and its inevitable release at the end of the GameCube's lifespan. Plus, it sold horribly because it wasn't marketed properly to the right demographic. I don't remember any commercials for it, either.

If Geist were to be re-released as a "New Play Control!" title with added motion controls, it would definitely sell better. Nintendo could use it to market towards the mature gamers that have been aching for a decent first person shooter with blood and gore. Geist could possibly be Nintendo's answer to SEGA's hardcore, mature-rated titles (such as MadWorld). Obviously, Geist's graphics would have to be improved to Wii standards for the re-release.

Geist's multiplayer was quite possibly the best the GameCube had to offer. There could be up to four human players and up to seven bots (with a maximum of 8 players total in one battle). If Nintendo added WFC support, the game would no doubt become extremely popular. Before Geist's original release, there were rumors that it was going to include LAN support (that only PSO, MKDD, Kirby Air Ride, and 1080° supported prior). Warp Pipe Technologies (started by Chad Paulson of Warner Bros. Records) thought that this would be groundbreaking and help with Nintendo's existence in the game industry (for those of you who don't know, Warp Pipe was software that was started in 2003 that allowed people to play the 3 Nintendo-published titles "online"). When it turned out that n-Space had to remove LAN capability due to Nintendo's stupidity, fans were extremely disappointed and Geist was left to sit behind the glass cases inside the electronics departments of retailers, inevitably becoming a $20 bin game.

The whole point of the "New Play Control!" series is to give great GameCube games a second chance because they either didn't sell well or didn't expose their full potential the first time. Nintendo should take advantage of this series for all of their underprivileged games. Hopefully Geist is planned for the second wave.

I missed out on that game, unfortunately. I would actually really like a new play control version. I've just never thought of it :P

If a re-release did happen, it would definitely help n-Space release Winter.

I never thought it was a good game to begin with. I could see it being improved on if it was redone on Wii since the GameCube controller was never a good input device for FPS games. It wouldn't really hurt to redo it but making a Geist 2 and addressing the problems of the first would be far more advantageous.

It'd be awesome if they did make a sequel instead of just a simple "New play control" version. And if they do make a "new play control" version it better only be damn cheap, cause I heard you can get the GC version of Geist for like $10 now.

He didn't say he doesn't want a sequel, he just said it is a nice idea to release Geist as a new Play Control title. And I agree, I also missed out on that title, mainly because I'm not really into FPS games, but it could be interesting when the gameplay works well with the Wii mote.

No, this is the one New Play Control game I don't approve of. Geist was not a great game with the only redeeming feature being a somewhat fun multiplayer.

Rather, I'd want a sequel which made a better game and did what the hype for the original said it would do. It was a great idea, one which I haven't seen before in a shooter, but it was not executed well. If they can correct the major flaws in the game (007 Goldeneye played better than this), then it might be worth picking up.

I'd rather them just remake it and I loved it on the GameCube.Add in some online with Wii Speak, upgraded graphics and fully customizable controls and you've got pure awesomeness.

Hell's Yes, I would love a GC Port or a Sequel with fixed bugs and Online. I loved Geist. They need to keep the Split Screen though...

I'm not sure, I think a proper sequel could be best, even to address some of the complains for the game mechanics, such the possesion or little freedom to "scare". This could be better as a New Play version only receives minor upgrades

guys, i hate the plkay control range as much as anyone but a game like geist which was missed by most and looks quite good (i never did get it) is one of the few games that deserves it afterall, it would cost little to make and would fund/give a reason to nSpace to make a sequel which, after seeing winter after only 6 months work, would probably look and possibly play awesome

No, Geist's weakest element was its First Person Shooter DESIGN, not control. The puzzle/possession elements were fantastic, it was bogged down by a terrible design sense of what makes a good FPS. A new controller isn't going to help that.

As said several times before, a proper sequel is a much better idea. If n-space could use a few of their DS COD4 tricks and a few notes out of Monolith's rulebook, you could have a truly fun FPS with some groundbreaking puzzle elements. Geist 2 has potential if handled right. Remaking the first one with new controls really doesn't.

I would like to see a new one instead of a rerelease, and by the way there was a commercial for Giest.

I agree I loved Geist I want a sequal. I'm also interested in Winter. Because it is N-Space but I wouldn't buy any n-Space games before Geist because they were all crap.
