The virtual console consists of old games to be downloadable from NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis and Turbografx. Soon there's going to have Neo Geo included.
NES games are 500 Wiipoints (except Teenage Mutant ninja turtles which it's 600 because it's a licensed game)
SNES/Sega Genesisgames are 800
N64 games are 1000
Turbografx are 600 (except R-Type which it's 2 games into 1. It's 800)
You can buy your Wiipoints either by buying a 2000 Wiipoints cardfor 20$ on stores or you can use a credit card by buying them on Wii Shop Channel. There's 4 options 1000,2000,3000,5000 for 10,20,30 and 50$.
There's also the WiiWare that is coming. It's like PSN or XBLA where people could put new games.
GameCube games are not downloadable. You have to buy the disks. Wii is perfectly backwards compatible with it. All you need is a GameCube controller and a GameCube memory card.
Wii is very fun, there really isn't a ton of games on it though. But remember this is nothing like ps3 or xbox. the wii's majority of games with hold the correct definition of 'videogame'.
while fps interactive fictions are fun, there will probably never be a true hardcore one on this system (excluding games like metroid which are still basically just a revamping of the original game and adding a more complex story).
ps3 and wii will both be around for sometime, and will both have amazing titles through the years; definately a good idea to have both.Â
If your getting a Wii, some games I recommend are Godfather Blackhand Edition, Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, and Mario Strikers Charged.I would also recommend Zelda, but you don't like it. Also wait for some of the other big games this year as well.DARKJAKE13there are some tittles you well enjoy
