Hello all thanks for viewing my thread,

I'm debating on whether I should get a Wii or not. I already have a 360 for a long time. I've owned Wii before, but I only had Mario Kart and there was still no online for it, so I sold it back shortly after buying it.

I see that Super Mario Galaxy 2 is coming out and I feel like I could have fun with a Wii and some of the games.

Right now I can get a Wii with Wii Sports and Mario Sluggers NEW for 179.99 + tax. What do you all think?

It's up to you, but that isn't a good deal.

Right now you can get a white or black Wii bundle (comes with Wii Sports Resort and a Wii MotionPlus peripheral) for $200. That's a much better deal. Sluggers can be found for cheap anyway, and isn't a great game from what I've heard.

But again, it's up to you to decide if you want a Wii. Do some research and figure out if it's for you.

Well instead of sluggers I can get the New Super Mario Bros or Mario Kart or a bunch of other games I choose one. How is 179.99 not a good deal for that. What's so big about a Wii sports resort?

All the other poster is saying is that a new Black Wii bundle is coming out soon. For 200 bucks you get the black Wii (which may interest you more than the white one), Wii Sports, and Wii Sports Resort which comes with the Wii MotionPlus control. It's just another option to consider. If you want to save 20 bucks and don't care about the color or MotionPlus controller, then go for that other deal.

Ultimately the decision is yours. Just do some research.

Don't get it for Mario Kart. The Mario Kart on the wii is utter crap - stick with Mario Kart: Double Dash for your Mario Kart fix (the gamecube version). Even though it doesn't support online play it's still the best.

Oh yeah, I was looking at that deal. I recommend games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii or Super Smash Bros. Brawl to get you hooked, before you go for Sluggers - besides, those games are still $50, while you can get Sluggers for half that.

Well nows a good time as any to buy any console. The wii Launched in 2006 over that time through now people have complained about a shortage of worthy games. I too have gone on a wii drought. But if your just starting out with the wii i reccomend not starting out with crappy games like mario party 8 or whatever you said and start out with something like Smash bros brawl, or Mario galaxy.

Agreed mkwii along with mk64 is the best. Online play is amazing and imo can hang up there with the big ps3 and 360 titles. But dont get it for one game of course. I would go for twilight princess btw its one of the best games ever.

AfterBurnerZ

You mean, you are not gonna get a PS360 view on Nintendo games, go to other boards for that. From here you will get answers from people who actually like the system.

Resort is a must buy. You get a great game bundled with a soon to be must have add-on which is WM+ (Zelda Wii is gonna require this one.)

MKWii is still awesome for multiplayer / online. Expect some heavy rubberbanding on single player.

if you are interested in getting a wii, get that new black bundle. and if you are still deciding to get one or not, then look at all the wii exclusives and decide whether you like them or not, games like New Super Mario BrosWii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid other M,Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Kart, and whatever other games there are developed by nintendo themeselves. i have my wii so i can play those nintendo exclusives, along with my PS3 for the other games not available for the wii.

You should decide based on the games you will play, not the tech available in the console. If you are not interested in playing many games on the wii, i suggest you dont buy the wii, but if you are, go ahead and get the wii black bundle cause its worth it.

I'd just get the black bundle probably. But there are tons of great games coming soon. From Nintendo and Thrid parties.

If you can find about 10 games that you're interested for on the Wii then buy it. If its only 1-2 don't get it, because there is no point.

This is probably the best advice I could get and the best advice to give anyone looking to buy a system. Great advice. I'm going to look at how many games I would actually play. It really stinks when there's not that many games. Thanks

and i forgot to mention, if you were a classic nintendo gamer then there are a lot of great classic titles on the wii shop channel which gives you a great opportunity to replay them.

In line with that, 10 games you might want to look into:* Muramasa: The Demon Blade. New Super Mario Brothers Wii Red Steel 2 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Monster Hunter Tri Dead Space Extraction Little King's Story Rune Factory Frontier Phantom Brave: Wii *NOT an exhaustive list by any means - just a primer. Left out Metroids, Zeldas, Punch Out!! - lots of other games. More in the Recommendations thread.

I've seen so much on Mario Galaxy 2 lately it just really has my interest in the Wii jumping. My friend has a Wii and we play Sonic All-Stars on it which is decent. I've had Mario Kart before it was the only game I had for Wii and I just couldn't sit there playing Mario Kart single player by myself. This time around I think there's more games out... This new NBA Jam they're working on looks awesome too. I don't know if there's enough games that have my interest yet though..hmm... They need Mario Golf and Mario every other sport.

Dude... ...really? I mean, seriously; what games, exactly, are you into? If your friend has a Wii, you guys could at least get some stuff for it. No like 2D brawling?
