Should I buy FFXII: Revenant Wings if I haven't finished FFXII PS2

Hey everybody. I know this should maybe in the recommendation thread, but not a game vs game thing so... Mod feel free to move this if needed.

So... I plan to buy FFXII : Revenant Wings soon since it looks like pretty cool/different FF game and I'm a Final Fantasy freak (played to almost every one of them and finished most of them (or almost finished...)), but I am currently playing FFXII on PS2 and I just freed Ashe from her prison.

So do you think I should wait until I finish the PS2 one before getting the DS to avoid getting spoilers in the DS one? I'm pretty story sensitive (it's for me one of the best aspects of every FF game), so I wouldn't want to get too much spoilers...

So what do you think? (and how much time do you think I have left to finish FFXII, since I'm almost at the beginning).

It doesn't matter. It would certainly help, but a little.

You could still enjoy Revenant Wings without playing FFXII. The games compliment each other more than anything. Meaning, you can play in any order.

FOr example, playing FFXII will make you want to play Revenant Wings. Or playing Revenant Wings would want to make you play FFXII. But if you can, play both.

I highly recommend playing FFXII for the PS2, not because of Revenant Wings but because it's a great game.

i played FF XII for PS2 the first 4 hours (in a friend's house).

i bought revenant wings and beat it. the original story is not important in this sequel

well i have both. but i never finished the one on ps2. it's difficult and really confusing at a lot of parts.

on the on on ds there's like nothing that you need to catch up on. it'll tell you the basic things you need to know in the beginning and you don't really need to know much just that penelo and vaan are like best friends and they are orphans.

on the ps2 you learn tht vaan's brohter was killed in a war so you should be good.
