Should I buy Fire Emblem?

I've never played a fire emblem game but I've read the player reviews and everyone likes it, should I buy the game?

Definitely. It's my second favorite game of all time. On easy mode, it should take you around forty hours to complete. The presentation is admittedly dated, but other than that, the game is great. The game play requires a lot of strategy, and if you like chess, then you'll more than likely like this game.

Be warned, it is a difficult game.

The first FE I played was the GC one, I started on Hard and breezed throught it. With the Wii one, I am on Normal and I just can't seem to finish the last 3 stages...

I agree that it's like chess, but I disagree that it takes much strategy. It seems like the enemy is always using shaved dice.

It takes more strategy than Final Fantasy III, and pretty much every other RPG that relies on level grinding rather than actually using strategy to beat the game.
