Hey people,

I have been using component cables for close to a year now, they are some 3rd party ones of ebay, no brand, and right from the start I have noticed, severe jaggies when i turn the sharpness up, and a blurry faded image quality in general, I have been wondering would buying the official cords, help?, or is it my TV and which would mean buying them a waste of 49au?

Nintendo's cable would probably give you a tiny bit of an improvement. The jaggies won't go away because the Wii's relatively low resolution causes those.

What about the washed out colours and blurry looking image quality?

It could be my tv via component, because im running my PS3 via HDMI and that looks fine.

Try adjusting your colors and brightness etc. It's going to be blurry because your TV is upconverting 480 lines to 720 or 1080 (depending on your TV). But it ought to still look a lot better than using the composite cable.

You may have bad component cables. Most 3rd party ones work fine, but they could just be bad ones or they broke. I would make sure your tv isnt on bright mode. My PS3 looks great on bright via HDMI but my Wii doesn't. Once I turn the bright mode down the Wii looks fine.

Im not saying its unberable, but it seems to be alot less 'clear' then the ps3, I know its running at 480p vs 720p, but id expect the menus to be nearly as clean or am i wrong?

i have some 3rd party brand component cables too and they work fine. but on one of my tvs the colors did seem a little dull so i just turned the brightness up a little and it looks great. it probably won't look as sharp as a ps3 but it should still look decent

Put the original cables back on. If you see an improvement with the original cablesm, then new component cables are likely needed.

No the originals (Composite) look terrible compared to these, would that mean they are fine?

Your current cables are probabluy fine, but that could depend on how washed out the colors are as well. What games have the washed out colors? How washed out are they (just a little or does everything look bleached)? The jaggies are probably normal, and somewhat depends on your TVs ability to upsample the video feed comming through the component connection. I don't noticed any of the issues you mention, but I don't have a 360 or PS3 to compare.
