Should I Even Bother with Pokemon Platinum?

Hey everyone, the last pokemon game i played was pokemon crystal version for the gameboy color. I am interested in this but I dont know ANYTHING past the first 2 seasons of pokemon. I know i will be very confused when i get this so do you think i should buy it or just skip out? Will i learn everything and be able to enjoy myself and the game or no?

Pokemon games all have the same format. If you enjoyed crystal then you will definitely have fun with Platinum :D

Thats what im worried about, theres going to be so many pokemon i dont know. I could run across a lengendary and not even know it, i could miss the chance of having great pokemon simply because i do not know what they are.

Legendaries will either have sprites or battle themes separate from the average battle theme (pokemon you'd find in the grass)

Also, I didn't learn of most of the pokemon in the game until my first play through (I think it's like that for most people, doesn't the game come out before the pokemon season for that region? I think I remember sapphire and ruby coming out before the hoenn region season on tv)

You can pick up at any game, and you wouldnt have missed a thing. All you missed was Ruby/Emerald/Saphire and there wasnt much in it that was different. You have no worries, get platinum and enjoy :)

You should get Platinum cause it is just the same format as crystal was but alot more newer pokemon.

You'll probably like it, I've got it and I'm enjoying it. Its just like emerald and crystal or yellow but actually has even more additions that those had.

you should buy it because if you like pokemon you will like this, pokemon platinum is a remake of pokemon diamond or pearl but they added more things in it,like i think some new pokemon and some other things, i know they added more but i dont remember so, sorry, anyway if you really like pokemon you should buy it but if not then dont. I will because i really like pokemon games and i think this game is going to be good because pokemon d/p was very good, well for me. and really, i dont think you need to know the pokemon series to know what is going on in this game.
