Heck, I didn't even bother to get a DS lite. I still am using the Phat. Works great, no problems with it, so why get a new one with "bells and whistles" you probably won't even use? (Besides, I enjoy playing my GBA games.)
Still, if you enjoy the bells and whistles, why not?
I would wait. But while waiting, as with the dsi, you'll be able to download games onto it, amirite? It's worth the wait, IMO. I'd buy a used ds phat in the mean time, so that you have something to play ds games. Also, isn't it true that there will be DS games made that will be for the dsi only? That's another advantage of the dsi.
When id the DSI coming out? my B-day is in late March and i am wondering when it will be released.MetaKnight50Mine is in April, but a doubt my parents will buy me a dsi . Doesn't it come out in April?
i dont understand why in the world would people buy a DS phat when you have no ds. I dont understand why people would wanna buy that big clunky thing with dull screens around when there are better options (just the way i see it, no offence to people who have one). Here are my suggestions:
For DSphat owners or for people who dont own any DS.
-If you dont have a DS and wanna play BOTH DS and GAMEBOY ADVANCE games, go for the DS lite man.
-If you dont have a DS and only care about playing DS games, you should probably wait and maybe get the DSi
-If you have the DS phat and wanna play BOTH DS and GAMEBOY ADVANCE, you should probably consider just sticking to your DS phat or getting a DS Lite (i recommend getting the Lite)
-If you have the DS phat and only care about playing DS games, yeah you might wanna wait and consider getting the DSi

If you want to play any GBA game, then you should get DS Lite.
If you don't want to play any GBA game, then you may wait for DSi. DSi may offer downloaded GB/GBC/GBA games like VC.
if you are interested in the camera and this ds ware stuff, then you might as well wait for it.
but my own personal opinion would be to go with the lite, as it's looking way better (where's the DSi's 2 square logo? where's the smooth edges? the DSi is ugly. when i first saw it i thought it was some cheap DS imitation) and in the end, do you honestly think you'll be using all it's 'unique features' that much?
wait for dsi, since it'll be here like in march or earlier whitefirexI remember when i was able to per-order pokemon pearl. Will i be able to do that with the dsi?
I heard you can download the games by using a barcode or something ( just wondering if that was true) and will i need and Sd card to download stuff? If you want to play any GBA game, then you should get DS Lite.

you should be able to, call your game shops =)
Someone in another post said that Nintendo isn't stupid enough to add a camera to the DS just for taking pics like a normal camera. It might have some uses that make it worth it. Bigger screens, better speakers, and isn't it possible that you can download games onto your DS? So if I were the topic creator, I would wait for the DSi.Not worth the wait.
Bad camara
No GBA slot
DS downloads is ok i guess
MP3? I pods anyone?
Just get the DS lite
I still rock my phat blue DS

k, thanksthe features will make ds unique games muh better i reckon. (daigasso, eba, etc)
the better hardware specs and the use of the more popular wifi option i reckon is a major point...games will run smoother and wifi will not lag/be as laggy (rejoice for any non-american who lags worse than a dead elephant)
