Those are really the only differences. I would personally just go for the regular sized one since i think its just right size wiseand will look crisper.

Pretty much this. Although I've seen a few sources say that the games look and play fine on a XL. In other words, all the image stretching/pixelation/and other issues that people have come up with seem to be a non-issue.
In my experience, when a screen is only a little bigger than another, after a while your eyes adjust, and you don't notice it any more. I think that, added with the fact the DSi is a little more portable through size, means you should get a regular DSi :D
I will be keeping my DSi and upgrading my DSlite to the DSi XL. I wish I would have waited for the XL instead of getting the DSi but thats the price you pay for buying it on the first day out.
Honestly, even if I didn't already have my DSi I'd still go with the DSi over the XL. I love how slim the DSi is and the XL just... I have really small hand so I guess I'd also have trouble playing it as well.
I mean really small hands. So if you have regularly-sized hands it shouldn't be a problem.
But I wouldn't get the DSXL if you're one to play while laying down cuz it' be a pain to lift.
It's all up to prefernce and price range it seems...
I would wait. There were 2 videos that were posted where some guy talked about how the dsi XL is very nice. He said the dsi's screens seemed like "stamps", and i think he said he liked the XL better. IMO I would wait. He also said only SOMETIMES there was an issue where the pixels were somewhat grainy.
