I thought Windwaker was a great Zelda game, but with its controls, I think it would also work great with the wii mote. Do you think Nintendo should re release windwaker, maybe in a slight higher resolution and some upgrades in certain areas, and of course make it in wide screen. I know I would buy it again, would you?

No, thats a waste of time and money that could be spent on making the next Zelda. Especially for a game thats barely 5 years old.

the only games i think they should remake with implemented wii controls are Metroid Prime 1 & 2...... just because Corruption's control scheme was so brilliant (and im having a hard time replaying the first two now!)

I think it's against the "Law of Video Games" to remake a game only five years after it's release. Ten years seems to be the best time apparently.

No, that's okay. I would rather have Nintendo find a way to make the Wiimote+Nunchuk compatible with all GameCube games (which I doubt will ever happen).

I personally think it's a bad idea to fund ANY remakes. Make new games. Sequels on the other hand....

Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous. Just buy the GameCube version and enjoy it. That's what the backwards compatibility is there for. There is absolutely no need for a remake, as great as the game is.

No I don't want any remakes, Nintendo should concentrate on new IP's/the next installments of their established franchises.

Well then it wouldnt exactly be a remake now would it? but to answer the topic creator, NO MORE REMAKES. Plain and simple, I dont understand why you wouldnt want them to be at work on the next Zelda instead of wasting resources by slapping wiimote controls on what was already an amazing game, that doesnt need them.

Perfectly said. To anyone who wants to play WindWaker. The Wii plays Gamecube games. Enough said!

What about the Wind Waker controls? People act like everything in that game is suited for the Wiimote, but it's just because of the Wind Waker...

I would like it to be remade for the Wii. It wouldn't really take many funds or time away from other projects as it can't be that hard to do. Also there are reasons to port over really good Gamecube games to the Wii despite the backwards compatibility. Controls would be much better, you wouldn't need to buy a gamecube controller or memory card if you don't have them already, possibly slightly better graphics and load times, and widescreen. Windwaker looks kind of crappy stretched out to 16:9 and leaving it with black bars on the side isn't much better. Also it would bring Nintendo more profits which could possibly be used to fund newer games and would be a good filler for game droughts. You can't wiimake every Gamecube game but some games deserve it and Wind Waker is probably the most deserving Gamcube game after Pikmin and Metroid which already have wiimakes.

I'm getting tired of these remakes, Wind Waker was fine on Gamecube and little to nothing would be gained by remaking it for Wii

Wind Waker has aged gracefully and it still looks amazing till this day. There would be no need for a remake. As for motion controls, just play Twilight Princess. I'd rather they use their resources to make Skyward Sword as epic as possible...

Why? there would be no difference, and it would be a severe waste of resources and time.

If anything they should remake the first two Zeldas in 3d and everything. Now that would be cool.

That's right. I have Wind Waker, and it's still fine the way it is. Besides, it's way too early to remake it. Wait until you're old and tired, then Nintendo will probably do a remake for a handheld or something.

i never thought of it like that but it makes sense... nintendo is remaking ocarina of time on the 3ds and goldeneye on the wii and instead they should be making new innovative titles, not repeats. I hope they focus on skyward sword and leave wind waker in the past, it was a good game and always will be, it doesnt need a remake.

If they remake it, it needs to look like TP and OoT and get rid of the cel-shading graphics. Making Link an adult (using a child-adult transitioning system like OoT) wouldn't hurt, either.

No. I'll expect a remake in a few years for the 3DS or a future handheld.

MathMattS

Wait... what?
Wouldn't that be OoT but with water? :P
And cel-shading made Wind Waker feel fresh. The game wouldn't work if it had TP's graphics.
