IGN posted an article today written by one of the developers of the conduit. It's a great article- I probably should've linked it. But one of the things the developer said was that fan feedback has really helped them out. One thing they want to hear about is if the conduit should have cheat codes or not. So please post your opinions, as they will have a huge impact on whether they will be in the game or not.

I for one say heck yes- I love cheats. The reason Goldeneye is still one of my favorite shooters of all time is that it has such great replayablility- which is helped by the wide selection of cheats. Not only do they add some replayability, but they add a lot of fun as well. For example, DK mode, which made all of the enemies have gigantic heads and long arms (like donkey kong). It's certainly not a deal breaker, but it sure would be nice to have them.

Level cheats, No. Funny cheats, Yes. Why don't games have big hands, big feet, big heads cheats anymore?

Yes. Cheats = more ways to play = more replayability = more fun.

If cheats were to be implemented, i'd like it if they were unlocked after completing the campaign mode once. This way, everyone has to legitimately beat it at least once without blazing through with infinte ammo or unlimited health. I personally don't care whether or not they decide to implement cheats, as long as they can't be abused in online multiplayer.

I think they should go with the cheat codes and it shouldn't be required that you beat the game. This game is all about giving players the ability to customize their experience if they want to play the game with unlimited ammo then its their choice to make.

Yes. I think it's fun to be Superman, absorbing every shot and meleeing bosses to death. I mean, why not? People who don't like them wont use them, and the people who do will be able to tailor their single-player campaign to their liking. I don't see the downside here.

Oh hell yeah, it should. But like cheats that made Gears 2 multiplayer broken in Conduit's single Player.

cheats no,unlockables yes..like a weapon that will just wipeout all enemies. :)

If cheats are to be implemented without completing the game first/once then just block the ending, Congratulations! you beat the game over ..No Ending sequence. ;)

No online cheats. Only funny cheats, big headed enemy, midget enemies, tiny guns etc...

Good call. Online cheats suck. I was playing Mario Kart Wii the other day and some d-bag had this endless blue shell cheat on. It really ruins the fun for everyone. No online cheats- just single player cheats.

I believe fun cheats are ok, as they make the game interesting. But cheats that allow players to gain an advantage in the single or multiplayer should not be included.

I don't know if online cheats really qualify as cheats...they're more hacks. These are purposeful cheats, not jerk wads dipping their hands into the programming looking for loopholes and back doors.

I would like them as long as you get them like how you did in halo, where you find the cheats in hidden locations. If you just put in a password it makes the game a lot less fun.

Meh. I don't really mind cheats, but I don't care too much about them either. I like the funny cheats idea, those were fun in MoH: Frontlines (dudes with heads as airplanes??? or new dialouge as in Halo 3), some should make the game more challenging (again Halo 3), and they should be in hidden areas as a sort of item, like Halo 3 skulls. In fact, it should just redo Halo 3's idea of "cheats" as a whole in its own unique way (skulls are instead patatoes or something)

Funny cheats would be cool, but not cheats that make the game so easy to play it's not worth playing. If you can't beat the game without cheats, you need to lower the dificulty level.

But would you not agree that if they paid for it, they should also get the right to play it how they want. Most people WONT use cheats the first few times because its a waste of a game. And on the topic...why not, its up to me whether i use them.

Well I think most people agree that cheats should be an unlockable, like you can only use them after beating the game at least once. I mean, it adds some replay value, and also acts as a reward.

cheats as unlockables than why not.Online cheats definately no, but online unlockables like CoD would be great. i think there should be alternate endings depending on what difficulty you choose to bring more replay value.

everyone should remember that if the game has cheats hackers will find a way to use these cheats online. So I say no cheats only unlockables or perks like in call of duty.

I say yes. But I think they should make it where you can't use them until after you've beaten the game once. Cheats are fun, but I think people should enjoy the game without them first, then people can really enjoy them with the cheats!

no

cheats make games feel slightly cheap and stupid when they're like the conduit

things like timesplitters can have them and it will add to the game, but the conduit isn't that kind of game

as an unlockable sure. i have fond memories of the stealth suit in MGS on the PS1...that made a second playthrough all the more enjoyable. there was also the infinite ammo bandana if i remember correctly.
