I know the Grass/Water/Fire is how its been from generation 1-4 but I think it should be changed up a bit. Mabye something like Psychic/Dark/Fighting or some other one. I think it would be a good idea to keep things feelimg new. It might not seem like it but I think this would affect how you go through the game.

The only downside I can think of doing this is that it might be harder for newcomer. The Grass/Water/Fire is pretty easy to understand: Grass beats Water, Fire beats Grass, and Water beats Fire.

However I still think it would be nice (mabye even better) to change the starter types to something else that way veterans can have something new and newcomers can get familiar with the game faster.

What do you guys think.

I'd love to have a pure ice type.
Ice is my favourite element.

I agree with that, sorta. They should do what they did for sapphire/ruby and make emerald. Only thing is, they should give you different pokemon (your idea) but have the pokemon have dual types i.e psychic/fighting or dark/grass (my idea). Other than that, sounds good.

They need to improve Ice-types defensively; the only type they resist is their own.

I was actually thinking of that, but I would want them to be pure typed or uniquely typed (like waht you said about dark/grass)

That's a good idea. The starters should also maintain their full types. I don't like how in the later generations they started to spiral off. (Water become Water/Ground) After G/S/C, I quit using the starters, I'd get it, go capture the nearest Rattatta clone, then shove the starter in my PC. If I was bored, I'd sometimes take the starter out, and force it to mate with Dittto. So yes, different starter types plz.

I agree Psychic is super Effective against Fighting, Fighting is Super Effective against Dark, and Dark is Super Effective against Psychic.

I would like that because the game would play differently also I do like those types.

Yeah. I got an Empoleon. It was kind of nice not having grass super effective, but ground andfighting became super effective and fire became regular.

fake starters

Dark, Fighting, Pshyic.

These were fake starters for Diamond and Pearl, but I think they'd be awesome.

I also always wanted a kangaroo Pokemon.

I don't know, I kind of like what they've done all this time. But it might not be a bad idea.

I know, I know. But the only thing that makes it a Kangaroo is it's pouch. I guess that means Chansey and Blissey are Kangas too? So I don't think it really counts.

And Kanggaskhan is fat. BC

i refuse to consider kangaskan as a fair pokemon.

it clearly makes the team 7 pokemon instead of the regular 6 that is allowed.

besides, kangaskan is ugly and has flaky skin. he could use some lotion every once in a while

cocoa butter with shea would do him some good.

Yea i think there should be other types as starters, in fact id like it if there were six starters to choose from. The original fire, water, and Grass would be there but then you could also choose from 3 other types, I'm not sure which ones would balance them out but more choices are always better IMO.

IMO the starters types should be uncommon types like fire, dark, steel etc. I always find it a bit of a waste having a water type starter as they are so plentiful throughout the game.

I think they should just stick with the original Pokemon formula. It's been working so far. Maybe when it's older they could do something like that but for now, I'm perfectly content with these starter types.

Some people may still want to keep the usual grass/water/fire starter selection, other may want something else, so maybe they should increase the starter selection to 9 different pokes to choose from, for more variety.

Would Water, Electric, and Ground be a triangle?

I still don't think I'd want different starter types still. But maybe in the 6th or 7th generation it'd be cool.

But we don't really have many fire types to start with which is why getting a fire starter is a good thing.

I dunno, it might be cool to choose the type you prefer the most. You know, one of each type in a bigger game than the handhelds. But I ain't sure Nintendo would do it, and the current triangle just works so well.

I was also thinking of a ground/electric/water but I think a dark/fighting/psychic or a flying/fighting/rock would be better.

I agree with this, i mean... they make around 15 legendary pokemon on the 4th generation... why not 9 starters? And they should stop making so much legendaries... or at least make less event-based ones.

They should keep the fire, water and grass and create dual starters. Ex: Fire/Poison. Water/Ground. Grass/Psychic
