probably no but when I went to buy strikers the guy was like "Do you want to pre-order Brawl. Are you sure?!?" kin of freaked me outsmallcaplegend
They do that just to get you to buy something else, doesn't really mean anything.
And no, you shouldn't worry.
You won't be able to justwalk into a game store and get it for at the very least a week after release. Brawl is gonna be huge, people didn't know what to expect from melee I think, and found it amazing when they bought it. After so many people have playedmelee and loved it, and all the hype with the daily updates, it will be big.

same thing happened to me when i went to get a extra wiimote at gametop
Yup, happened to me when I wanted to buy RE4. He asked me about7 times, and he was talking to my mom forever. :P Then, when there would be akward silence after 5 min of talking, he would just stare at me with the game in his hand, like he wanted to talk some more. It was very... akward.
i'd say don't worry about it. If retailers are smart, they'll buy enough, and if Nintendo is smart, they'll make enough. Brawl will own.ZumaJones07
It doesn't work like that at places like Gamestop, the amount of preorders one store gets determines the amount of total games they get. Sure most will get more than the amount of preorders but who knows how large that number will be.
