it was only #3 on wiiU eshop debut chart this week.... but #1 on 3DS...

Not Surprising since the install base is so much higher.

But this chart doesn't tell us much.

Also just because it is #1 on 3DS, doesn't necessarily mean that it has sold more units than Wii U.

That's what I thought too.

But technically, you can define "better" to mean "better with their rankings among their respective platforms". So technically, it does do better in one sense of the word, not that it means much :P

but 3ds has more systems out and shovel knight #1 in sales...it can only mean it sold better...no question....

unless wiiU eshop sales are some kind of money making monster compared to 3DS.

Well you have to take into account the free downloads that Mario Kart 8 gave.. I'm sure that it is selling much better on 3DS, but I'm positive it would be #1 on Wii U if not for that free game promotion.

I wish we had the option to get a bunch of eShop titles for free with the Mario Kart 8 promotion.

I really don't feel like buying games like SMB3 et al. for the millionth time. I haven't even touched the 3DS versions since I got them.

Cross-buy is such a wonderful idea...don't you think? I'll never take the digital route so long as the option to buy physical media remains.

*sigh* I'll probably get those NES classics anyway (I own all of them on the NES anyway, but still - #WEAKLING).

Hmmmm, I have a bunch of eshop credit. Just don't know what platform to get it on and I kinda want to wait until it's 10 bucks or cheaper.

I will get it shortly.. Looks good.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS version ends up becoming the highest seller. It make total sense and the game is well suited for a portable.

I plan on buying it soon. Game looks really cool.

At least it's selling. I plan on getting it tomorrow for the Wii U.

That game is on my radar. Is it as awesome as advertised?

@Pierst179: It's fantastic, I'm almost done the game and I highly recommend it. A lot of games have tried to do the retro approach but this game feels like it has it's own identity and is pretty modernized. It's a bit short, but it has a New Game+ mode after you finish it once and Yacht Club Games is going to release a free DLC update with some more content.

I am looking forward to reading them.

Awesome! I planned on playing Mario Golf World Tour and Mario Kart 8 until my next game (Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton) came out, but I might throw Shovel Knight in there too.

Just a fun little tidbit: I bought the game for 3DS and it's awesome. Anyway, on Sunday I met one of the creators of Shovel Knight at Supercon in Miami. Was a really nice guy and was super appreciative that I bought the game. We had a nice chat about retro games, the game itself, and other fun stuff. Glad I supported the game and hope the company finds success in the future.

umm... i think im going to start on golden sun on the GBA instead...then do shovel knight after that :P
