Sidescroller Castlevania.... for Wii?

If your a Castlevania fan, chances are you've heard about the new one being developed for the DS and how theres an extremely high chance it has Wii connectivity. Now, Igarashi has already mentioned that if he does release a castlevania for Wii, it will most likely be a 2D sidescroller with 3D graphics thrown in, much like the DS entries.... only better.

Do you think think this is a mistake?

Normally I'm iffy on 2d sidescrollers with 3d graphics because they almost always look horrible, but LostWinds looks absolutely incredible. That said, it has a seriously different graphical style than Castlevania. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.TargetDog

Rumor has it the there are 3 Castlevania games in the works. The DS 2-D one has already been confirmed, Order of Ecclesia. Apparantly, there is also a 3-D game that will go the the PS3 and 360 and another 2-D one going to the Wii. I hope it's 2.5-D, but it will be a sidescroller (assuming the rumor is correct). I think that the Wii game will be Nintendo Power's secret game too.JAB991

Very nice. And now that I think about it, that Nintendo Power "mystery game" could be a Castlevania reference. Though as already established on this board, that's just one of many speculations.

yeah castlevania SOTN one of the greatest games of all time. i realy hope they make one for wii but i dout it will happen

SOTN is the second greatest game of all time behind LoZ:LTTP. A side scolling Castlevania game is always welcome. Hopefully it they can make something nearly as good as SOTN. I think they would need to bring back Alucard to accomplish that though. Only because Alucard is a bad mother and none of the new characters they have introduced since can compare.
