Considering that Nintendo offers you unlimited online storage for all of your Virtual Console games you had no reason to buy one.

It saves time. It's faster to transfer a game from your SD card to your Wii rather than download it again. But that's the only reason I can really see.

Not much. The transfer rate between Wii and the SD card is terrible. I've tried really good, fast cards too.

I still prefer keeping stuff on the card though rather than having to load up the Shop Channel.

Do you have like every VC game or something? Why?

I only see it as necessary for those storing photo's and custom music for that one and only game that supports it.

@ bryehngeocef: That depends entirely on one's Internet speed. Unless somebody is using a fiber optic line it would be more efficient to transfer larger (as in not NES) games using the SD card. I have a 512mb card in my Wii. I've a 2gb card for my camera which I could use but I have yet to download many Virtual Console games so I've not required it for storing games.

I don't need one yet but I'm probably going to need one soon.  I'm down to about 300-400 blocks of memory.  Even though Nintendo does let you redownload all your VC games I think I'd prefer the peace of mind to have them on an sd card.

I have a small SD card but just using it for pictures at the moment, I have bigger cards for my camera and Pocket PC.

Nope, I got it for MP3's... but if I had not bought it earlier I would have to now... I love the VC.
