Back in 2007, I remember hearing about Smackdown VS. Raw 2008, coming to all platforms including the Wii.I am a big wrestling fan and when I heard this, I got excited, because I could get it on Wii. THQ revealed things like motion controls are gonna be used and taunts could be done by moving the wiimote and nunchuck. They really didn't reveal anything else about the Wii version, so I Kept update on the 360 and PS3 version, I thought they'll all be the same. Then The game got released and I was going to buy it, but I borrowed my friends who got it already and I was Disappointed. The story mode wasn't as long as the other versions, each character had very little moves, the HUD sucked, no online even when they said in a interview it would have WIFI, the worst part was that it only had 5 different match types, and 1 weapon (not including the announcers table). Then I went online and found out, THQ were testing what the Wii was capable of. So I never bought it. I thought I'll wait next year.

In early 2008, THQ announced Smackdown VS. Raw 2009, which had new tag team elements, a create a finisher mode and a whole new story mode called road to wrestlemania, which was like older story modes from older wrestling games. They also announced a few new match types and the Wii version was going to be better and have WiFi. THQ again really didn't reveal much about the Wii version. Close to it's launching in November, I found out that the Wii version had WiFi online with a ranking system. Better HUD. It had way better gameplay than SvR08for the Wii. Each character got more moves, they added exclusively to the Wii an interactive entrances and Victory scenes. It had a better Create a Wrestler mode, and The full road to wrestlemania story mode. It even had the new tag team elements that the other versions had like double team moves, hot tags, etc... And all the weapons and I liked How They added the feature to choose what weapon you want to use and being able to walk up the steps. The Wii version also had almost all the match types, except the new ones, which the other version were going to get. The things it didn't have that the other versions did were: Create a finisher mode, highlight reel, Downloadable contant, career mode, Elimination chamber match, inferno match, etc..!!! I started thinking this game is way better then SvR08, but doesn't have everything and still lacks some stuff. So I never bought it and decided to wait until Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010.

THQ never announced SvR10 yet, but they will and I hope to see the Wii version to be More like the 360 and PS3 counter-parts. What happens If it's not good either, should I wait until SvR11 comes out in 2010.

I did some research on Wikipedia and found out the THQ were actually going to port over Smackdown VS. Raw 2007 to the Wii and include all features, but waited until it released so they can see what the Wii was capable of.

Looking at the wrestling games coming out onto the Wii, I would Have loved to see SvR07 on the Wii.

The same goes with TNA impact, they need to make a better game, The Graphics for the Wii version were PS2 graphics.

What do you guys think.

You shouldn't be too upset from what I understand no one thinks much of the game on any platform. I use to be a big wrestling game fan but that was back on the N64 and early GC days. The Smackdown vs Raw series is pretty bad no matter what platform you get it for.

I know what you mean, I used to play games like WCW/NWO revenge, WWF No Mercy on my N64, WWE shut your mouth on the PS2, WWE RAW 2 on the XBOX and the wrestlemania and Day of reckoning series. The newer games don't live up to the standards that were set by the older and better wrestling games.

SD vs RAW '10, I would personally not get it since 09 is pretty good to me.

If you are holding back... then I guess you can wait for '10 but the matter is... it would never be perfect. Flaws and stuff.

I've bought every wrestling game for the N64/PS2 and the best ones were No Mercy and Here Comes the Pain. I never really like the Smackdown vs Raw games (with an exception of the first one, but i didn't like the controls much).
