Unique story to why you bought a DS lite?? And no, don't say you did because you liked the game library, it has to be something totally different. For me, I bought a DS because last summer, I brought my PSP to France, and while on vacation there, I took the metro everywhere I went. But what made me want to get a DS lite was the people on the metro... Throughout the day, I always saw at least one person playing their DS while travelling. I really started to consider buying one because those Frenchies seriously made it look more enjoyable than the PSP. So after I got back home, I went and purchased one for that sole reason. What's your story??
err, my dad ran around franticly last christmas eve, looking for a limited edition gold zelda ds (i didnt even ask for one!! let alone that particular one!!)

i like it when parents make a guess at things and get it perfect.
i got mine just to play the castlevania games that were out for it back when PoR was just released. after a bit i started to play other games and i really loved the ds more than i thought i would. it took me about a month to find one in stock, but it was worth it. now i play it more than any other system i own. lol
my friends talked me into getting one so we could play mario kart and tetris with a group of them. It took me a while to saved up but it was worth every penny. i jus recently sold my psp n kept my ds because the games are that much more enjoyable =]. just my 2 cents
Well, it was a while ago but I went to my cousins house and he just got a new DS. I was staying at his house so I ended up playing it SO much. My grandma, seeing how much I liked it decided to buy it for me, and so she gave my father a checque for 200 bucks to buy the DS. I love my grandma. =]
I have PSP it's rarely used. My 360 broke now I need another system I will use regularly. Xmas coming up, £100 not a big deal for my dad (even though I have money of my own). So you could say my Xbox 360 broke at the right time. (Gold subscription expired + I got to enjoy Gears of War 2 for a few weeks) DS was a good bet because it has all those awesome nintendo games, and it's the 2D king (gaming needs more 2D games) Getting it tomorrow, black Lite.
My friend needed money and didn't play his DS Lite so he sold it to me for 50 dollars. The funny part is what he needed the 50 dollars for... A pre-order of Final Fantasy Crisis Core for his PSP. :P
i bought a DS lite because my best hand held gaming console was a gameboy color , and i thought it was about time for an upgrade :P and I knew i had to get Pokemon Diamond.
When the DS and PSP were announced, I was a huge fan of the DS and my brother was a fan of the PSP. Then a few months later it switched. I bought a PSP first and I loved it, but there were just sooo many games I wanted that eventually I had to get a DS lite.
Also, while I was buying it (a pink DS lite, I'm a girl), the sales guy was like "Yeah this is a great system, especially compared to the PSP for people your age. How old are you, 12 or 13?". I was 17.
I bought Pokemon Diamond the first day it came out to play it on my friend's DS. However a week later my friend decided to be an A-hole and decided to not let me use his DS. So I was basically stuck with a copy of Diamond that I could not play. I couldn't resist the temptation so next day I just bought a DS Lite.

But yeah, I got my DS because...wait a minute, I don't even know when or why I got one! All I know is that I one kinda appeared in my house (probably by way of my parents).
Well. When i was like 13 years old i was a huge fan of nintendo handled game system. I had my game boy advance with avariety of different kinds of games. I didnt knew nothing about the DS. Them i suddendly saw in the cover of the magazine a handled system that i didnt knew nothing about (it was a ds). So i started to buying some magazines to research more about the nintendo ds. Well as my parents could not afford the price of a brand new DS, i asked my uncle to buy one for me, as he was in mexico and there was just cheaper than here Peru. He promised me that he was going to send me one for March (My birthday) of 2005 but that ds never come to my hands :(. I got tired of waiting and with a huge effort i got the money for buying a brand new DS lite :)
My dad didn't want me gwtting a DS because he thought it'd be too distracting so I went with my cousin to the store, bought it and haven't told him to this day! I love it when parents are ignorant.:D
Well...I was playing my DS Fat outside(on concrete) and my brother came up behind me and pushed me. It fell and the top screen busted right off. Since my brother is lazy and never wants a job, I was screwed. About an eternity later(like a month) I convinced my mum to buy me a DS lite. She knew The Thing would never give me $130 dollars for one, so out of the kindness in her heart she got me one.
