It should be okay if you let it dry for a day or two.

I can't believe anyone is taking this guy seriously... if you are thick enough between the ears as to combine tap water and electronics I say you get what you get.

My old GBA was totally submerged in water before. I let it dry and it worked like normal. My kid called himself "cleaning the screen" on his GBA SP. Ran water on it, Turned it on and it fried the screen. I say get moms hair dryer, blow air near the Dpad for like 15 minutes (not too close though) and still wait a day or so before turning it on.

Jesus, I hope this isn't serious. You DS was probably destroyed because you turned it on while it was still wet. Nintendo systems are built to last. unless they are in the hands of the Criminally insane.

Does the D-Pad still work? Yes? Then what's the problem?

Is is broken? Then you probably shouldn't have watered your DS. I think this could've been solved with mystical power of observation. Seeing as though the water has already entered the DS, I don't understand how comments from strangers is going to effect your situation. Even if we all said, "Yeah, you're DS is a junker," it wouldn't really effect the status of your system. So again I ask, what is the relevance of our opinion on the actual outcome of your system's status? None.

Also, what was so filthy about your DS's D-Pad that caused you to water it? I've had my DS Lite since launch, and never have I needed to clean the D-Pad. If you're like every other person that sells used systems at my work, your controllers are gunked up with sweaty skin debri, and Taco Bell Fire Sauce in every crack and crevass. Shame on you.

Well it could be that he is, with out actually saying it, asking if he should take any specific action with this situation. Also it is human nature to want to have control and knowledge of things in their life. Like if you wanted to know if your girlfriend cheated on you. It's not like the outcome can be changed when you find the answer but it will bring closure and help you think of your next action. In this case he might want to start planning ahead to saving up for another DS or get ready for some begging to parental figures.

Or I'm just making this up as I go along and you can pay no mind to me or my opinions. :D

You're still looking for answers? you got a whole page full of them. Other than some were just making fun some of them had a few good ideas. Such as let the water dry before you turn it on again. I mean right there I saw a "Thread Over" sign.

This is getting pretty pointless... Give this guy a break! All he needs to know is what to do with a tiny dropg of water in his ds. Even though he'll ignore all of us, give hime answers. Atleast he'll realise that we are helping him>

Not that this post qualifies, but has anyone else read articles in EGM or other game rags recently about the spam posts that are being generated by PR firms like "Hoo Likes Harvest Moon?" or "R U Playing Disgaea?" using the "hip" texting contractions and youthful vernacular in order to hide their marketing adgendas? These people are using you, folks... and if they're not trying to pick your brain for how to sell you something, then they're just here to try and work out some of the pointless agression they feel for being such losers in life.
Flame-baiting and trolling are old concepts (as I assume this topic is). Getting on forums and kicking up dust is pretty easy, especially when they're populated by opinionated fanboys. Asking a stupid question generally gets someone to respond, and then it's a tennis match to see how long you can keep people pissy...
I say something stupid. You call me an idiot. I act slightly more stupid as well as acting completely innocent to stir support ("Hey Stop Pickin' On Him/Her") as well as working deeper under the skin of the agro-responding poster.
One of the oldest games of the Net... so before you respond to a post like this one, THINK.
IS this a question that someone could possibly be serious about? In this case I'm going to have to say no, because anyone who has an Internet connection and doesn't get the whole Water vs. Electronics concept has gotta be in need of an enema. Leave this poor snot to wallow in his/her destroyed DS, if that's the case... who really gives a puck? It's not YOUR DS that's been destroyed.
Responding to BS posts like this and "Tell Me A Game 4 Me 2 To Buy Pls" are only jamming up the server... and Jah knows, the Internet needs very little help in getting jammed with useless garbage.
Next Caller.

Shame on you.

served. but seriously he has a point. why ask what will happen to your ds. no matter what people say, it won't change the outcome.

bshaw84 - These topics get a lot of attention because it attracts intellectuals and trolls. This sometimes leads to a good laugh now and then. The stupider the topic the funner it usually ends.

You guys are getting way out of hand. The guy only asked for some help.Thats all you have to do, dont make it any worse with your sarcastic observations.

thanks

[QUOTE="inzaneetie013"]so i cleaned it the problem is darn it a small drop of water entered the inside of the dpad!! sp what now will harm the ds lite or sumthin?DSfanatic5

This thread is like a drug rehabilitaion center, every one is saying how they messed up and some how messed up their DS its funny, but since i need help any way i had a toe nail stuck in the corner of the touch screen some how it was akward.

o and if i remember my Forensics right oil from ur finger prints get left on any thing u touch no matter how much force is applied, oil can come from ur face or ur hair, if u worry as much as i do about my hair thats probly why his d-pad is sticky, scientifically owned

Well something might mess it up.... You shouldn't have place water on it in the first place...... But i think it will be okay,as long as it was a drop. Just might cuz a few years ago i SWAM with my Pokemon Sapphier, and i found it at the bottom of the pool. It didn't work for a week. But later on i put it in, turned it on and it worked just like that.

exactly. whats the big deal.

everyone's saying how stupid you are because you put your ds in water. all you did was wipe your ds with a damp tissue and get a drop of water between the dpad and the ds. no big deal. its kinda careless, but it could happen to anyone.

anyways. i think your ds is perfectly fine.
