So i got a classic controller today.

And the reason i got it was so i could play virtual console games on my nintendo wii with great an easy contorls.as soon as i got home from buying it i went on super mario 3, to find out i couldnt change the controlls for it ? i went an clicked home on the remote and went on operations guide, went on to view "conrols," and it shown me the controls. But it didnt let me change them. i really wanted to change the controlls because it is "y" or"b" to run and "a" or "x" to jump, this means it is uncomftable and orcward to do a "run and jump" move, which u need to quite alot on super mario:) so i just wanted to know? is there another way to change the controlls for the game so that i can use "y" to run and "b" to jump?:)

thx:)

Why don't you just use the Wii-Mote for NES games, it works brilliantly and feels a lot like the NES controller. The Classic Controller is really only really good for SNES games and works pretty well for N64.

Aye, I like the Wiimote for the NES games, not least because I'm too lazy to hook up the CC. :)

Agreed, use the WiiMote for NES games and Classic for SNES games. I haven't used the Classic for N64 games, but the GameCube controller works well for these.

But, I do think it'd be a good idea if Nintendo would add in the ability to remap the controllers for the VC games.

Yeah, and how many times can you clip and unclip the wrist strap cord before it wears through and breaks?

Why would you use the wrist strap when playing a VC game?

when you attach the classic controller, you clip the string on the wrist strap through the little clip on the end of the CC cord. You don't actually wear the wrist strap.

Is there a wrist strap on the classic controller? If so, why do you use the wrist strap, it's not like you'll be throwing the CC around the room is it...

It's made of nylon, so it ought to stand up for quite a while. The old wrist strap clipped and unclipped easy, but the new one doesn't so I don't clip it. I don't really see the point of clipping on the Classic controller because the remote is sitting in my lap, or next to me. The Classic controller probably only has the clip because Nintendo wanted to save cost by using the same cord for the Nunchuck and Classic controller.
