I thought the first Ranger game was the worst pokemon game I have ever played, so im not excited at all about a second. Wont be getting it. I look forward to the sequel to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon though.pikastar
really i haven't played the original pokemon ranger but i have been wanting to get it, and if i liked it i would then get the second. It looked really cool. What was so bad about it?
I also been told the mystery dungeon was crap.
Ranger is ok, but it can be completed in a day if you play alot. Mystery just got boring and too repetitive. There are sequals coming out for both of these series.
Heres some info on characters you can pick at the start of both games if you click on the links to the right on these web pages.

I've played pokemon since the red and blue days.
Pokemon ranger was good decent game and nice change of gameplay, ill get the sequel.
Blue Mystery Dungeon was not my cup of tea, it looked so basically put together and simple, if they had've toned down the graphics you could have released it on the original Game Boy it's so simple.

Graphics arent everything. Id rather have a game with GBA graphics and have fun story/gamplay then a boring, stupid game with better graphics. Ranger was dull. All you did was run around making little circles on your DS for 4 hours. The gameplay was boring, the story was dry, and the villians were idiots. I just wanted to skip all of their talking because all they did was whine, there was never any point where it was entertaining to so easily defeat the idiots. You didnt get to keep the pokemon, which I understand is part of being a ranger, but atleast they could have let you choose your partner pokemon. There was no need for any strategy, the pokemon had the same abilities and there was no customizing of attacks and skills like you do in the regular pokemon games. The game was also short.
Pokemon Mystery dungeon has a good story mode and also continues after you have finished. The gameplay is like a dungeon crawler. You can collect all for the pokemon except the ones in Diamond/Pearl. You choose what pokemon you want to be at the begining and your partner pokemon. You can also choose which pokemon comes with you on your missions. Strategy is needed in deciding which attacks to give to your pokemon and which to bring on each mission cause you have a limited amount you can bring. Dungeons that have 99 levels are no where near simple when you have limited resources. There is a Wondermail option to gain new missions even after the story mode is done, as well as the option to help fellow players who died in a dungeon. You can take a mission to go save them.
Id rather play the game that is actually entertaining and takes some effort to play instead of only pretty to look at while you make mind-numbing stupid circles all day. This should also answer the question someone asked about why I didnt like Ranger.

Graphics arent everything...
excuse me for cutting 99% of your post, but he merely stated that he thought that the game mechanics were simple enough for the gameboy but that the graphics would need to be downgraded. He never stated that the graphics were bad.

Ranger Bonnetage lets you pick your partner, and there are quite a few to choose from.
Ranger has more missions after you beat the game. Not as many as Dungeon but there are missions.
