So I was checking out the Wii's top games list on GS...

...I found something kind of weird.

Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (amazing game) got an 8.5. Okay, cool. Not a bad score, and it seems about right.

But right under it. Metroid Prime 2 (the really freaking old 2d one...) got an 8.5 as well.

So. I think it's somewhat absurd that a 15 year old 2d metroid game is getting the same scores as a new, and incredible FPS Metroid game.

I mean sure, Metroid Prime 2 was great and everything, but those two games getting the same rating is pretty stupid.

So, that's my small rant. Anyone else agree on this?

There rated differently, newer games are punished more. Look up gamespots rating system it tells u that.

For "Metroid Prime 2", I think you mean Super Metroid, which, in my opinion, is the best Metroid game made.

Although I still have to say that they underrated Metroid Prime 3: Corruption here though.

Also, 8.5 is a disgrace for both, but especially Super Metroid.

I think they review stuff compared to the market at the time so that would make super metroid and 8.5 compared to other games that came out during it's original time and metroid prime 3 and 8.5 compared to games that are out now.

If gamespot was reviewing games by looking back to the past instead of looking at the now, everything in theory be perfect 10s because "it's sooo much better than what we had 10 years ago".

At least that's how I figure it...

and plus metroid 3 is a freaking awesome game! So is Metroid prime 3 whenever it gets released in 3 weeks in UK but still! awesomeness!
