People say the Wii version is the definitive one but I say:
1) It's a GC game, meant to be played on GC.
2) No laser aim = fail.
3) Ridiculous fast aim = un-RElike.

From the shooting games i've played (and i know RE4 isn't a shooter, but a survival/horror) it actually has the best action/shooting i've played on the Wii so far (thats coem from games like RedSteel and CoD3).
I never played the Gamecube or PS2 version, but i love the Wii version. I would say just pick it up for the Wii. I mean you got the wii to use the motion controls so why not use them! Plus you get more content on the Wii version (you ge the extra PS2 content).
[QUOTE="Mike_Camp"]Like I said I've never played the Wii version but the game should be played on the GC because it was made for it.pokergo
Why are you just quoting everybody and not adding anything? You do this on all your posts...
Anyways yes grab the Wii version. It is the 'definite' version.

1. Except it's been ported to the Wii for superior controls. That's like buying Super Mario Brothers 3 off the VC and saying that it should only be played on the NES.
2. Plug the GameCube controller in and you get the laser aim back. But the reticle is better for the Wii Remote aiming.
3. What? It's a hell of a lot more accurate. Resident Evil didn't intentionally try to have crappy aiming. It's just until the Wii version of Resident Evil 4, that was the best method of aiming to Capcom, and it still wasn't that good.
The Wii version is the definite version. It has the best controls, the PS2 extras, and the graphics of the GameCube version. You can also play it in 16:9. Even if you don't like the new aiming system with the Wii version, you should still get the Wii version because you can play with a GameCube controller, anyway.

See now after playing the Wii version I thought this so I rented the GC version again and hly cow, it was near unplayable with the laser aim it's so innacurate compared to using the Wiimote, so slow as well. Definitely get the Wii version TC, if just for the fact it has all the extra content from the PS2 version.
Yes, yes and double yes, but get the wii version cause it has more extras than the gc version ( i think). It might be easier on the wii but the extras make the wii version more likeableFelmo_07
Exactly! get it or you will lose one of the best games on the wii in my opinion

Don't listen to him,
1) It's a GC game, better suited for the Wii
2) No waiting for your reticule to get on a zombies face = Win
3) Ridiculous fast aim = More fun
hmm so should I just try get a copy of the gamecube version on ebay? anybody else agree the gamecube version is the one to play??[QUOTE="Wintry_Flutist"]People say the Wii version is the definitive one but I say:

No, avoid the Gamecube version at all costs. "un-RElike" means that it's actually good to control. If you want a version where you're not in danger of throwing controllers at your TV, get the one for the Wii. That rhymes, so I'm obviously right. Get it. Run to the store. Now.

No! Get the Wii version. The controls are way better. And if for some reason you want to use the GC controller, you have that option too. Then it has a bunch of extra (that the GC version doesn't have) which will add hours of replayability.

FPS like controls in RE is everything but superior controls. I wonder if people actually have any clue about RE gameplay and how it is purposely stressful.

That's true Resident Evil for you.

Using the Wii remote makes the game a bit easier. If you've never played it, I'd say get it on the Wii. Plus, there's more content on the Wii version of the game.
Anyone recommending the GC version over the WII version needs to have their heads checked.
Get the Wii version, it's great!

I'd rather get the extra content, but I agree with you about the last two. PS2 version for me.
Yes, no matter what you get it for, it's worth it.
you should try to get in on GC the aiming is more realisticsoccerslim79
Realistic? You are seriously saying that controlling a crosshair with a gamepad is realistic? Good Lord...

It requires no HUD (instant win) and delivers the legit stressful and tense RE gameplay.
Wii version runs in widescreen unlike the GC build, and has all the bonus content from the PS2 build as well I've finished the Gamecube game about 5 times, the Wii version is better in all areas. I can see why people might prefer the Gamecube controls, but that doesn't make them better. Wii controls are more natural once you get used to them.
I only had it on GC, probably one of the definitive games of last gen... it's one of the ones people will remember
so yeah DEFINITELY get this game... I would say to go for GC cos I can't imagine playing it without the lazer pointer aim, it just seems right to have it slow moving and hard to see sometimes. it adds to the atmosphere

PS2 version was not an option... with it's lighting effects, and inferior control layout... tut tut... tut tut... why do I sound like such a fanboy...
