So pissed at Toys R US

I did stop by one this evening. Thought I would buy my brother the game and keep the gift card for my self. Just as I get to the door, I read a nice big note stating that due to some shipment problems they would have it for tomorrow guaranteed by 5:00pm. I wonder, since they had already used the 'guaranteed' angle before.
At least Fry's electronics has a small disclaimer, something along the lines of "Subject to shipment..." something or other.

TRU sort of pissed me off too. I called Monday and they said they would have it on Tuesday morning. I went this morning and they didn't have it. I asked the employee when they'll get it and he says around 1:00 pm. I'm somewhat pissed by now because I got stuff to do and I can't come back around this time. But I figured, it's ok because I've got a pre-order so can get it later in the day. So around 3:00 pm, I called to see if the game has come in yet and the employee tells me they don't have anymore copies. Their damn shipment didn't even cover the pre-orders. That's so F***ed up. They tell me that another shipment might come tonight or tommorrow and to try then. They better have a copy for me tommorrow morning. I can't believe how a big chain like TRU can have such a s**t-a** pre-order system.icream

they likely just had way too many people preordering it due to the sale and htey are trying to accomidate for that and it's hard (my guess).

I also had trouble with Toys R' Us yesterday. I went to the store at 3:30 to find about 15 people waiting in line for Mario. After about an hour of waiting an employee tells us that there is a possibility the truck with Mario Galaxy won't make it to the store today. Apparently he called a bunch of other Toys R' Us stores West of his store and verified that they as well did not receive Mario Galaxy yet either. At this point I was rather annoyed. Huge company such as Toys R' Us, they put an ad in the paper stating they will have the game by 5PM, and then we hear about all these other locations not having it either. He gives us all pre-order coupons and we all cough up the $5 to guarantee a copy and the $25 gift card. We walk away empty handed, they get our $5. Great.

I head over to Best Buy just to see if they have copies on the shelf and sure enough, they do. That aggravated me further. So, I can either pay full price at Best Buy or get the game half-off at Toys R' Us (effectively half-off considering the $25 gift card). The problem is, I don't know if Toys R' Us will even have the game today. Being a huge Mario fan since the first game, I MUST have this game today. Defeated, I go home.

I wait 4 hours and head up to the store again to see if the truck finally came. Yeah, I could have called first, but how many times do you get someone on the phone that knows what the hell is going on? Exactly, so I drive to the store. Now I find out that they still don't have it and that they were supposed to receive two DHL deliveries today but for some reason only the first delivery was made.

If the game isn't in-store by the time I get there after work, screw Toys R' Us, I'm getting my $5 back and I'm going elsewhere. Okay, so maybe it's only a day or two extra I would have to wait but I'm a huge Mario fan and I don't wait for Mario games. :)

Same problem here at a Houston area ToysRus. Showed up yesterday(11-13) at 3:30 and was told the delivery wouldn't be there til 5pm. Came back at 530pm and was told the shipment wouldn't be there til today(11-14).

However, went to bestbuy and they had several copies there but didn't buy since I preordered at TRU. So pissed.

Yeah, they pulled the same poor customer service on me here in the Chicagoland area, I just got fed up with their BS so I went over to Walmart and they had at least 25 copies on the shelf behind the counter. So I went back to toys are them and showed my copy and told the store manager I or anybody I know will never shop there ever again.:evil:MyWii

Unfortunately I'll have to go back there to shop to spend my 25 dollar gift card. :(

I went to Toys R us early this morning at opening to get mario galaxy and the 25$ gift card with purchase. When I got there we asked if they had mario galaxy available. The store clerk said that they did, and went to the back to get copies for the several people that were waiting. After several minute they came back and said that the truck hasnt arrived yet, but should be here in the next few minutes, so my son and I waited an hour in the store for the truck it never arrived. I live close to the store so I stopped in a total of 4 times to see if it had arrived to no avail. The ad said In store guaranteed by 5pm so I went back to the store at 6pm. They were still not there. I talked with the manager (who was quite rude) and she said they will not be giving any compensation for there ads garuanteed ship time. Now they will probably sell out when they arrive and I will miss out on the gift card. Did anyone else have this trouble with Toys R US, because I will probably be dealing with there corparate office in the morning? Psychotic_360

the walmarts near myhouse never have the wii games on time. but i guess just to piss me off, that i don't have smg and i'm waiting for toys r us, they gotthere copies ontime

that sucks about the gift card, but thats why I hardly ever shop at those stores (bb, cc, tru, etc). I always go to walmart who always, always have plently of copies and theres hardly ever a line.iplayconsoles
